View Full Version : Enhance hosing action?

If I only hose my car, while wet, the car looks decent, as if there`s no dirt on it. Now, once the water dries, I can see that there`s still dirt, perhaps less of it.

Anyways, after hosing your car, you go about washing it with bucket and mitts. But after hosing, there`s still dirt on your car, just hidden, and you`re effectively scratching your car with your mitts.

My question to you guys, is there some spray or anything I can do to increase the effectiveness of the hosing stage?

thanks.

Foamgun with stronger soap.

Yep. The whole foamgun approach is directed at this exact problem: how do you move the abrasive dirt off the paint without causing marring.

using a foam prerinse seems to lift dirt off more than water alone. If anything it helps soften up the bond that the dirt has to the paint so removing it is safer and easier.

My car doesn`t get dirty, only dusty and it all falls off anyway with the pressure gun and touchless foaming prior to touching the paint

I think I might look for a foam gun, which ones do you guys recommend?

do these foam guns actually work (especially attached to a garden hose)? I can`t imagine all the dirt coming off by spraying water and soap on the paint.

Water will remove only some of the dirt, it is the detergents in the soap which allow the dirt to wash away

you still need to use a mitt foaming and rinsing doesnt get everything off
