Anyone ever use a rotary like this?

http://www.makita.com/menu.php?pg=product_det&tag=PV7001C

I found a good deal on one and am contemplating picking one up. It does seem to have it`s limits with a max of 1200 rpm, but it weighs only 4.4 lbs which is lighter than even a Fein. Other than the speed limit the only other drawback is the design, I`m not sure if the handle will provide more leverage and control, or less. Anyone have any insight?

Looks like it would be difficult to use .

I have seen these used in some body shops, but those were also air-powered.

Yep it`s the guy who runs the WAC detailing centre in Bangkok. He uses them and seems to like them. I imagine they could be good to learn on as you can look down the shaft to the pad, thus helping to keep it flat. Might be easier to use than a "true" rotary, especially on side panels.

well if u lock the trigger, then the rest is easier. I find it easier than normal variable speed makita. However, it`s nosier but lighter of weight.

1200 rpm is probably fast enough
