Does FK 1 do this remove "Industrial fallout (IFO), Rail Dust, Acid Rain, Hard Water Spots, Tar, Bird Droppings, Waxes/Silicones, Oxidation, Adhesive Residue, Road Grime Rust Stains. Eliminates the use of Clay and caustic methods to clean paint finishes."??

That is what it is supposed to do.

I have tried the 1119 and posted it in my thread on FK1 products tried.

My car was in good condition anyhow, however, after using 1119 I did not "feel" the need to clay

since it was squeeky clean and smooth.

I hope to try some 883 on a customers car soon.

I have used this stuff and was unimpressed. Maybe the Auto International equivalent is better.

Yeah, I need to try it on a car that would typically need a claying for better evaluation.

Setec, did you use both 1119 and 883 ?

I dunno, I used the kit, wound up claying afterwards anyway. As has been mentioned before (other threads), the Step 1 really stinks in a keroseney way, takes forever to get the smell out of even the bucket.

no bucket here....foam gun.

I Spritzed chemically smelling 1119 on the panel and a small piece of wash mitt and applied to car.

The application method seemed to work fine without waisting product.

Ick...I would never put that Step 1 (1119) in my foam gun. I had to leave a bucket in the garage for a week or two for the smell to go away.

Next time you might try claying while the acidic step is dwelling. It does dissolve the clay quickly though (or at least the AutoInt stuff did)...

Thanks, Accumulator, I have only used it twice, next time I will try that.

The whole point is something other than claying.

Thanks Guys

I thought the whole thing was a PITA. Terrible smell and the results were not as good as claying.

I didnt apply 1119 with a foam gun, I used the foam gun instead of a bucket for the soap wash dispensing.

As stated, "I Spritzed chemically smelling 1119(mixed 4:1 in a spray bottle) on the panel and a small piece of wash mitt and applied to car.

The application method seemed to work fine without waisting product."

MDRX8....that right, the whole point is to replace claying by cleaning much deeper than claying does, which according to FK all clay does is remove the top of the embedded contamenant, not dislodge them entirely and clean the pores, which then can be sealed by there other polishing and sealing processes.

I will have a better test vehicle coming to me this weekend, so I will evaluate.

I may come to the same conclusions of others that do not like, but I will really only know once I give it a shot.

Well, one could argue that the whole point is getting the paint as decontaminated as possible ;) But I *am* awfully clay-centric in my detailing :o

I’ve had *fairly* good results with FK’s DECON Kit. Some areas required several applications of 883 . . . others needed a bit of clay. Yes, the smell is awful.
