Could the experts verify that I understand the agressiveness of these products and that I`m doing things in the proper order:

For a vehicle with no swirl marks or scratches:
Wash
Clay
3M Imperial Hand Glaze
# 26 Carnuba

For a vehicle with scratches and/or swirl marks:
Wash
Clay
# 9 Swirl Mark Remover
(If swirl marks and scratches remain go to DACP then repeat #9)
3M Imperial Hand Glaze
# 26 Carnuba

I have not added a paint "cleaning" step, because I thought the claying cleans the paint, but I`m always open to being "educated" if you disagree.

Your steps are very similar to the steps I used on a car last week which had swirl marks, tried #9, not happy, used DACP a couple of times, then #9 followed up with AIO and UPP.

You might have some good results with the Klasse AIO or UPC before the glaze, may be able to forgoe the glaze all together if you like the results. AIO can be used on many things with good results.

Use what works for you, as you are your own worst critic (unless you have an ultra-picky customer.)

biff,

Your steps look pretty good to me. However, I would say that claying the paint does not clean in the same way that a paint cleaner does. Generally speaking, a clay bar is for "on" surface contaminates, and not for oxidation, and stuff "in" the paint surface.

I like your steps...Some use cleaner after SWR so to get the fillers out and really see if all the swirls are gone..
