I had been wanting to add up the cost of all of my detailing supplies and equipment. Today I was waiting for the UPS guy to bring me my 12 chemical-resistant spray bottles from US Plastics. I live in an apartment building and wonder about some of the others in the building, so I prefer not to leave my packages in the hallway. So I decided that I might as well take an inventory and take a look over all of my receipts. :think2 I lost some of the receipts, so those products were priced according to the going rate at the website I originally purchased from.

My money was divided up among these retailers:

http://www.Autopia-carcare.com - $358.50

http://www.Exceldetail.com - $ 533.84

http://www.Autogeek.net - $686.28

Other (Winner`s Circle, Specialty Motoring, Top of the Line, CoastalTool, Meg`s, Poorboy`s World...) - $883.50

Autopia member for: 2 years

Money spent on detailing products: $2462.12!

I must admit that I had a suspicion it was between $2K and $2.5K.

The best part is, I use all of it except maybe $75 worth. Most of my cheap stuff that I started out with has been given away, so it wasn`t included here. Neither was tax or shipping charges.

In case anyone is really interested in reading the long line of products, here you go: :lol

Now when will spring come so I can use some of this stuff??? 4 months of using nothing but QEW, QD, towels, tire gel, and an occasional wax is not enough!

What have you found the Mr.Clean magic eraser is good for?

Its great for cleaning scuff marks off of plastic door jambs or interior pieces. I have also used them on raised white letter tires with good success.

White95Max

yeah that`s what I wanted them for. I was working on a car while I was back at my parents` house, and my mom was going to the store, so I asked her to pick up one of them. She brought back a 4-pack of the "Wheel & Tire" version of them. I don`t know how different it could be from the original. :nixweiss

I didn`t complain about it. :)

But on the back of the box it says not to use on painted wheels. How many wheels out there are not cleared/painted? They must realize that most of the people that buy those are going to use the product on clearcoated wheels and have no idea that it is bad for them.

I have to wonder...

Did anyone actually read the whole list? :lol Congratulations to anyone who made it through all of it!

Oops, I forgot to add the spray bottles!

4 12oz bottles

4 24oz bottles

4 36oz bottles

I try to limit my purchases to when I absolutely need something. I`d guess my total is in the $500 range. Though I`m proud of myself for keeping it relatively low, I still envy a White95Max caliber collection :)

I`ll join you on this one. It`s nice to see that I`m not the only enthusiast with a massive arsenal! As of now, My "collection" is in the $2800.00 range. I now keep my "collection" in my Master Bedroom. I laugh at it everyday! It`s awesome to look at. (lol) Infact, I`m now having a fascination with FK1. I just got my new gallon of #425 yesterday. I`m thinking of ordering some pink wax & some 2180. The madness never ends! :hairpull

You realize that that request, coupled with the 25,000+ members here, could significantly alter the suicide statistics for this year? There is NO WAY I am adding my stuff up...I stopped counting before I bought my foam gun, Air Force Blaster, and CRSpotless.

My total summoned lots of laughter without any suicidal thoughts. What the hell is an Air Force Blaster? I can laugh about it because most of the money that paid for those products came from detailing. Not much of it came out of my own pocket. And the part that did, should be covered soon after this season begins. I`ve already got several people that want their cars done, and several people that are undecided but interested. :)
