Menzerna PO-85RD

Hi guys,



I`m excited to try PO-85RD as I have many good reviews about it on black paint. Many users have commented little dusting, nice working time and a flawless finish.



In terms of cutting power, is PO-85RD more aggressive than #80 or #83? I like the cutting power of #83 but its a PITA when it comes to dusting.



Is PO-85RD or PO-106FF more suitable for moderate swirls? I will be using the products with a Meguiars polishing pad and a BOSCH GEX270-AE.



Does PO-85RD or PO-106FF leave any rich polishing oils on the paint? Are both products similar with FPII?

I don`t know alot of answers to you questions but I can tell you PO85RD will leave a fantastic finish ready for a glaze or lsp. It is a GREAT polish. I use it about 4 times a year to clean of old waxes and sealants since I am a detail junkie.

Think of 85RD as Menzerna FP on steroids. It is a last step polish that is principally useful for removing the super fin scratches that are left over after the previous [coarser] polish(s). I never rely on it for a "cut", using a finishing pad to burnish the paint to a super high gloss prior to applying the K-twins.



Others my use it for very light cuts, so they can chime in...

No experience with #80, so cannot help you in that regard. Check out some of the work done by GRStyles (and others) using 85RD - his abilities are exceptional

GSRstilez I believe uses it and from his posts, I gather it has more cutting ability than #83 DACP

85RD is a light polish with very little dusting. I use with softpad to get rid of small scratches and swirls on my black Audi. WOrks like charm.. It leaves beautiful finish, oil free and ready for any LSP u have..Great stuff.

Can PO85RD be used with a random orbiter? I was told its designed for rotary and might not produce good results when used with an orbiter.

I use it with my cyclo and rotary. So, yes you can use it with a random orbiter. But with a rotary and high quality pads, you will get a much better finish.

PO85RD has a cut of 1.5 out of 5

PO106FF has a cut of 2.5 out of 5



PO85RD is definately not as aggressive than #80 or #83. PO85RD as others said is a final polish to remove any micromarring. PO106FF has a little more cut than PO85RD, and might be on par with #80, not 100% sure though.

I haven`t tried PO106FF so I can`t say but PO85RD works great with a PC...I haven`t found anything that works/finishes, on black, better then Menzerna`s finishing polishes (FP, PO85RD, etc) My sig shows how PO85RD breaksdown with a PC.



I agree with JohnnyDaJackal on the cutting levels of PO85RD..very light finishing polish, definitely not as aggressive as #83

I have used PO106FF with meguiars polishing pad and rotary, could go direct to LSP. But PO85RD is my favourite. I am waiting for PO85RD3 think I will get it next week.

Here`s my take after using both for over a year...





-PO 85RD: Finishes flawless and leaves the deepest finish I have ever seen after a polish. It cuts at a 2 out of 10 (very light...similar to Meg`s #82) and leaves behind almost no polishing oils (no fillers whatsoever).





-PO 106FF: Finishes flawless 90% of the time (depends on the softness of the CC) and leaves a stunning finish as well...A touch under 85 in gloss/depth if put side-by-side. It cuts around a 3 or 4 out of 10 (similar to Meg`s #80) and leaves behind almost no polishing oils (no fillers whatsoever).





I like both polishes and ONLY use them with the rotary. For me, my polishing lineup is as follows:



-Menzerna PO 85RD (for light swirls and removing buffer haze from heavier polishes)

-Optimum Car Polish (for more moderate swirls but still can finish clean if need be)

-Menzerna Powergloss (for heavy swirls and must be followed with PO 85RD)

85RD was able to get out light swirling on my cars paint when I polished the car in late november. I wouldn`t recommend that you use it for anything but removing hazing left over by aggressive polishes or to polish out the lightest of swirling. The finish that it leaves though.... that is a sight that you need to see.

Yes, very much so.



#80 "Speed Glaze" is aptly named. It gives good results quick.



If you want excellent results you`ll have to use other products, such as 85RD.
