Blurry SS repaint, what to do? (56k warning)

Hello, got a `98 Mustang here, repainted by Maaco with a SS paint :-/



Tried #7 with #26, still don`t have a mirror-like reflection. Here are come pictures explaining what I mean:

It looks pretty much exactly like this IRL. The paint seems pretty soft, #2 by hand resulted in a handful of green paint!

uhh...what exactly did you expect from Maaco? I dealt with a car that had a cheap repaint, and it never looked good, even after 8-10hrs of work on it.

If you want a great looking paintjob, you don`t go to the cheapest place to paint it.



Why did you have it repainted anyway?

A lot of the problem from what I can tell is that the pictures are out of focus and there`s some camera shake. Can you post some better and smaller pictures?

I have a car with some fresh clear and it`s been a month and it`s just BARELY workable.

I think there is some wait time involved.

Wait. You didn`t mention how long ago you had it painted.



You MUST wait at least 30 days (60 is better) to wax or seal new paint. If you just had this car repainted, you need to take that wax off.

There`s a bit of shake (tiny) on the first 2, but the 3rd is spot on. It looks JUST like that IRL.



It`s been a little over 5 months since the repaint. It did look nice and wet when it was fresh, but maybe that`s just because it was :think:

It`s my girlfriend`s mom`s car, but my girl drives it. Believe me, if it were my choice, I wouldn`t have had Maaco do it.. then again, if it were my choice I would have ditched the Mustang for something else.



The clear on the original paint was peeling, the "seashore effect" was in full swing so the paint was beyond saving anyway.

Probably horrible orange peel and I wouldn`t bet on there being enough clear coat thickness to safely wetsand it.
