I`ve been playing with Z2 Pro on the last few cars I`ve done. I also just bought ZFX. Is the ZFX supposed to do anything other than accelerate drying time? What are the primary benefits of ZFX?

You are supposed to use Z-1 or ZFX with the first layer to make sure it "locks" to the finish. I believe that the ZFX is supposed to make it a little "harder" and more durable, as well.
