Some early morning frost porn using hd and 3D products

Woke up this morning to a chili NorCal winter. Here is what my car looked like. Question does a sealant/wax/coating affect frost build up?

    Happy holidays,
    Chris

Mine looked pretty similar when I got off work in the AM and I have JetSeal on mine.

The sharkfin looks funny as it doesn`t seem it was frozen.

I have never noticed any type of coating affecting frost, snow, buildup, until the frost or snow starts melting..
Then, it will usually slide off faster, etc..

LSP strength definitely effects frost development. Check out the frost build up on a fresh application of BF Crystal seal:

    Cool huh?

The shark fin did have frost on it, just does not show up well in the photograph.

That is cool you have ice crystal formation. Now we need a gallery of different lsp`s with their corresponding water beading and frost effects. I wonder if a chemist could then analyze the results and explain why.

Maybe the hydrophobic nature of the coating discourages the ice from adhering to the paint so it chooses to adhere to itself, therefore it grows up. Heck, what do I know?

I guess there was zero liquid moisture so the frost probably did build outwards.
Im only a (social) scientist though so just a guess.
    Epic picture
