Woke up this morning to a chili NorCal winter. Here is what my car looked like. Question does a sealant/wax/coating affect frost build up?
Happy holidays,

Mine looked pretty similar when I got off work in the AM and I have JetSeal on mine.
The sharkfin looks funny as it doesn`t seem it was frozen.

I have never noticed any type of coating affecting frost, snow, buildup, until the frost or snow starts melting..
Then, it will usually slide off faster, etc..
Happy New Year !

Maybe the hydrophobic nature of the coating discourages the ice from adhering to the paint so it chooses to adhere to itself, therefore it grows up. Heck, what do I know?
A society willing to trade liberty for temporary security deserves neither and will lose both

I guess there was zero liquid moisture so the frost probably did build outwards.
Im only a (social) scientist though so just a guess.
