Many times when you think a product isnt good, it might not be the product, but the severity of the problem. Especially when you dont test it against a like kind product. Dwell time and agitation will produce quicker/better results with Eraser as it allows the product to loosen up the bonded contaminant. We actually use it with a DA and a foam cutting pad at our shop and it produces excellent results.

If I am going to use it with a foam cutting pad then why not just use a a polish? The fact that 3D eraser didnt remove water spots after a couple days is a bit disappointing. Multiple applications with a microfiber pad didnt help either. This is just my personal experience with the product. Others may have had better results. But for me this is something that just doesnt perform.

Using a polish via machine will remove paint (along with the contaminants). Using Eraser in the same scenario wont. In many cases, doing it the latter way is more beneficial. Im sorry you didnt have luck with Eraser. Id love to get a comparison with it against another WSR to see if its a product problem, or a situation where something else is required?

You are correct that polishing will remove paint. That cutting pad with eraser you mentioned will also be removing paint.

I was looking for something that would remove water spots from a coating instead of polishing the coating off and reapplying.

I disagree. Youre super cleaning the paint by working the product in (chemically), not leveling it (abrasively).

Heres a video to review using 3D Eraser in heavy water spot situations. As you can see, even with using a heavy cutting foam pad, the finish isnt affected other than a reduction of water spots.
