When using HD Cut and Polish with foam pads it seems the best technique is "less is more"-- no traditional pad priming--4-5 drops to begin (don`t rub it into the pad) and 2-3 drops per section after that--correct me if I`m wrong on this.

But, does this same technique apply to MF pads with HD products?? Should you just put a few drops on the pad and begin to polish or should you put an X on the pad, rub it in, then add 2-3 drops and begin to polish??

Same as foam here. The cooler the pad running the less product I use.

Yes, less is more for sure & make sure to not prime your pad.....regardless of pad. 4-6 drops(not X`s) to start and 3-4 for follow up. Make sure to clean your pads after every pass. Because you`re leveling paint and lubricants are being evaporated, dust/spent paint can accumulate within your pad. Keeping them clean will not just produce more effective cutting action, but also a clearly finish.
