Is 3D glass cleaner recommended to clean navigation screens or do they require something else?

Don`t know, would need to check the MSDS to see if it had a `butyl" component. That is what "may" damage the coating.

When in doubt, just mix up the same thing that they sell you for computer screens for a lot of money.

Mix some rubbing alcohol (IPA)in a 50/50 mix ( can even go less with the mix ratio of the alcohol water, down to 20% of the rubbing alcohol) and use a soft microfiber towel.

Do not allow any "chemical" mix to "set/dwell" for more than 15 seconds or so. That way the chemical can not "creep" under the edges and start to break the glue loose.

All I use for this HP flat screen, now 8 years old, for my instrument panel plastic in my collector cars, my driver, etc.

Our Glass cleaner contains Ethyl Alcohol and a tiny amount of Butoxy ethanol. Never heard of those items causing problems with someones screen. If worried, beter to be on the side of caution.

I would definately not use any aerosol glass cleaners though.

With proper dilution, the 3D glass cleaner should be fine, Ben.

The "strong surfactant butyl`s" are well know for attacking many adhesives, which is why many window film companies issue warning about using some glass cleaners.

An example, want to remove wall paper quickly, run one of those "spike wheels" over the paper, spray to dampen the paper, with most cheaper all purpose cleaners that are loaded with butyl`s, and in 5 minutes, the paper almost falls to the floor.

How about some Waterless Wash. Will probably put a nice sheen on it too.

Even diluted 2:1, waterless wash / HD free leaves the screen very shiny, probably too shiny.

I use Rubbing Alcohol diluted 50% with water and never had a problem. I`ve used this on navigation screen, flat screens and computer screens. Just remember to spay the product on a rage and then clean the surface.

No problems. I use 3D Glass Cleaner all the time on my clients cars. I don`t spray the screen, just dampen the MF and that`s all that needed.
