Both of these guys are on equal footing with regards to having friendships/business relationships/preferences/etc. with others in the industry -- heck, we ALL do. That`s no secret, I was just trying to point it out, though perhaps not in the way I should have.
Might those relationships influence our judgement in one way or another? Sure it could, but it does NOT mean we`re not capable of being honest. I have never seen either Corey or Garry purposefully skew anything or hide anything in any of their reviews/comments/advice. Only when it becomes crystal clear that someone has misled others maliciously do they deserve the sort of ridicule I`ve seen both of these guys getting. That`s not the case here.

To all of you who question anything that is ever reviewed I just would like to urge you to place an order and try it for yourself. That is the only true way you will ever really know without question what a product is like. Corey and I both do our very best to.put out quality reviews. It is crazy to some of you that a view or first impression can change as time goes on. In this business, you don`t have much if you don`t have your word.

Hey bud, I will defend you till the day I die! You are nothing but CLASS, such a genuinely nice guy that I would trust with my life, and I`ve never met you. That`s how much I respect you. Thank you for all your hard work, my friend.Originally Posted by CEE DOG
I am not here for negative business. I respect the reviews of both Garry and Corey and as stated above, it is their opinion. I was informed that this started because of a post or something made against Garry by another member on another forum, which I still have not looked up or wish to get involved with. If a post was made against Garry on another forum then there was no reason to come here and blast Corey in retaliation. Instead, take up the issue with the person(s) that made the statement you disagree with there. My comments above were based solely on the personal attacks against Corey posted here on this forum. If I knew Garry better than I do now and had I witnessed a personal attack on him elsewhere, then I would have done the same thing. I wish both Corey and Garry all the success they can accomplish with each of their respective business ventures.
Wow. It`s tragic to see threads like these go this way. Indeed, reviews are mere opinions of the authors based on their experience of the products. It`s not the absolute truth. Even if I still consider myself I noobie, I know that experiences with products differ; thus, the phrases "to each his own" and "you mileage may vary" are often used in detailing forums. We can share our own opinions of the products reviewed, but I think there is no purpose in attacking the character of those who wrote such reviews. The acronym IME serves a great purpose to make our posts polite.
We can only make assumptions, speculations and surmises about the motive behind their reviews, findings and opinions, and I don`t think it`s enough to attack their characters. Let`s just give these writers the credit for taking their valuable time by documenting their use of the products and share their thoughts. If they have some kind of a connection with the products reviewed, we can only be at guard on whether to believe them or not. Try the product ourselves or look for other opinions. In the threads themselves, we can see what other people, who tried the products, think of the products. Chill everyone.
"Don`t" and "Stop" are two words as threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to exhaust for the rest of the night. - Replies to Juliet
By pro do you mean someone that does it for a living? Because there are lots of pro`s who have a job outside of detailing yet they still provide top notch advice to our community. I agree to the extent of being cautious with reviews involving affiliations, and that doesn`t mean the person is intentionally trying to guide us to that brand.

I have no idea about this other thread either... Haven`t been there and don`t care to know
i THINK people take issue with reviews from someone who has something to gain whatsoever. It seems as though they want reviews from someone who has nothing to gain whatsoever. Either way, if you`re being paid to do something and you do it, you`re just doing your job IMO. Don`t yell at him for trying to make money, just disregard whatever he says and go about your business if that`s not your thing.
Picked up my replacement 3D da today from ups. Took it from the box and tested it. Placed back into the carrying case. Will be calling 3D in the morning.

Is this one exhibiting the same symptoms as the first one you had, or is something else/different wrong with it?

Strangely, that was the end of my career as a reviewer, even though the review was both accurate and poetic. I will however demonstrate how to get the best results I can with a product and show people how to properly use a machine - and there are times when I get paid for that.
This thread is why I started the discussion around defining different machines by their actions. In case you missed it I ended up suggesting:
Rotary, for a standard buffer, just spin, no orbit.
Forced rotation with orbit, for machines like the Festool 150, Makita BO6040, the Flex, etc.
Random orbital, for machines like the Porter Cable, the HD and anything else that has a free floating backing plate.
