This weekend I had a chance to use HD Speed on two different trucks, one a red Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin and the other a black GMC Sierra. The Adrenalin was supposed to be a simple wash/clay/seal, but I figured it would be a good test for Speed. The truck is an 08 with relatively low miles, and just recently had a Coyote 5.0 engine and transmission swapped into it. When this thing fires up, it is an attention getter.

I didn`t have time for too many pics either day, so please bear with me. My final thoughts will be at the end.

This was the condition before. Mostly dull and hazy paint, average swirls and not many RIDS.

This was the same spot, after HD Speed on a white LC pad using the Dynabrade on a Dewalt 849x. Two wipedowns with Carpro Eraser were done. Nothing came back, and no marring was found. The unique hood and tie handles on the bed made it more convenient to switch to a 5.5 Tangerine pad on the GG DA, so the rest of the truck was done with that combo. The results were the same though. Speed was topped with Poxy.

This next truck was a black GMC Sierra that lives outside 24/7. It`s in pretty rough condition for a 2011 truck, with all kinds of defects...dealership holograms, hazy paint, swirls and TONS of water spotting. I also found touch-up paint on the roof that the owner wasn`t aware of. Nice job of the dealership to not pass that along to him.

    Before

After. This was done with a black LC pad, just to check how well Speed would finish. Again, 2 Eraser wipedowns were done. The results were the same as before...nothing came back, and no marring was present. These pics were taken with my backup LED, which has a very diffuse lens. It makes the pics look a little hazy but in person, inches from the paint, the clarity was incredible. I thought I saw some marring initially, but on closer inspection I realized I was seeing unevenness and light orange peel in the base coat. It really was a crisp, flawless surface. After the test spot, I switched to a green B&S pad to see how much correction I would get. For the swirls and RIDS, it probably got 40-50% out and most of the water spots and holograms came out easily. Since this vehicle sits outside, I left Speed untopped to see how the durability will be. No good sun pics were available but the truck was noticeably glossier and richer black.

    Final thoughts:

Ease of use: Follow the instructions! 6 or so dots on a pad, unprimed, and you are good to go. Work it for a while and it still wipes off easily. One of the easiest to use products I`ve had the pleasure of using.

Correction: I`d rate this as above Poli-Seal but below D151. Considering the finish it left, I could see using Speed as a finishing polish if you will be sealing with Poxy.

    Durability: Remains to be seen.

Finish: On these two vehicles, which are both on the harder side, Speed finished superbly. No marring and remarkable clarity. I will try it this coming weekend on some softer paint to see how it does!

All in all, I`m really impressed with Speed. I think it could be a pretty versatile product for many detailers, and I can`t wait to see how Polish compares. A big thank you goes out to HD, Tunch and everyone who gave us the opportunity to test these new products out. A special thank you goes out to Ben who got these out to me super fast after my first shipment got lost/damaged somewhere in transit.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone, and thank you to all the veterans out there!

Thanks for the review. The Ford looks amazing!!!

I love speed. I use it often on oxidised white paint and it works beautifully with a purple Kompressor pad. One pass and it`s clear and finished.

Nice review Mikenap! Both trucks look like they came out very nicely.....good job! My SPEED and Polish test subject hasn`t been outside yet but sitting in it`s little corner it does look very nice.
My pride is in the details!

Thanks Charlie. That truck lives outside, so it will get abused regardless. At least he keeps his new CTS-V in the garage! I`d love to get my hands on that car eventually!

Thanks man, I`m very impressed so far. We`ll see what this weekend brings. Hopefully I can test Polish out and report back!
