By the way, I should also say that (I believe) the original purpose of the soft, blue foam on the LC/CMA pad is to provide a "suspension" for the pad. When I tested these pads, I actually found this characteristic very helpful when used with a rotary.

The purpose of the black foam on the HD pads is not to provide a suspension effect; it is to isolate the working foam from the Velcro backing in order to keep the polish/wax in the face of the pad.

I am guessing this would not work with the old 7424, but will work fine with the new XP version?

good to know, how many of both HD pads would you recommend to start of with?

    Actually...

When I posted for reviewers the old PC would not have cut it. In early August we had another breakthrough with UNO that allows it to work very well with the original PC and even better with the G110, UDM and new PCXP.

    Al,

The pads are pretty darn tough... Although, it is a brand new product, so I`m sure there could be some bumps.

One thing I should mention. I don`t "wash" my HD pads. After use I spray them with HD TOTAL, wipe them off with a towel, and put them back in their baggie. They will last much longer this way.

Will you be making pads big enough to fit on my Flex 3401?

I just got the same question by PM...

We are testing several sizes of the new pad material for use on rotary. So far, the size I like the best on rotary is 6.5". This should be okay on the Flex.

In 30 days or so I will put out a call for Flex and rotary testers.

Barry, Just one wipedown with straight IPA?

IME there are a few polishes that need 3x wipedowns with straight IPA to show the truth.

    Great write up Barry!

I can`t wait till I get my sample to try out.

I talked with David Fermani on the phone earlier and he tried the interior stuff and he said he was VERY impressed!

It`s funny, I had a pad design in my head 6 months ago and it looks exactly just like that pad. I mean identical!!!!!!!!

Is the black suspension foam stiff?
