Recommendations for pads for PC & Meg Deep Crystal System

I have tried the Meguiars cleaner wax with white pad that came with pc on black Titan. Did not remove water spotting. Was told by Meguiars to step up to Deep Crystal three step system. Does anyone have any pad recommendations to use with each step- cleaner, polish and wax?

You can try to use an LC Orange pad with the paint cleaner from the (DP3Step), but I do not have a lot of confidence in it.

You can also go to your local Car Quest and pick up some Megs #6. It is a little stronger than the regular cleaner wax. It may work depending on the severity of the stain. If that does not do it then you may have water etching which may require something with a little abrasion to it.

You might as well bite the bullet though and get yourself a set of pads. You are going to need them, if not now some day soon. Pick up some.

I use Lake Country (get at the minimum orange (Lt. Cutting), white (Polishing), and blue (Finshing).

storm- The only part of the Deep Crystal system that might help your issues is the Step #1 Cleaner. And IMO it's *so* gentle that you really oughta consider something else.

While it's a PIA to internet order as opposed to OTC, I'd just get some 1Z Paint Polish ( sources: Welcome to Exceldetail! or Aloha & Welcome to Our Oasis for All Your Auto Detailing Supplies & Accessories ). It'll work a *LOT* better than the stuff you're considering and is still perfectly safe for use by somebody with limited experience (in fact, it's my #1 recommendation for newbies, hands down).

I'd use a white LC/polishing pad with it, though some like the added bite of the orange light cut pad. If you use the orange, you *might* need to repolish with the white because sometimes the orange leaves micromarring (not always, just sometimes). Then just top the 1z polish (yeah "top", it leaves wax behind) with some wax you like (but not a cleaner wax). If you want something more gentle than the Paint Polish, get their Metallic Polish, but it's so gentle that there's no point in using a pad harsher than the white polishing pad.

But...OK, if you want to do the Deep Crystal, the pads to use would probably be white for the Cleaner, white or black (personal preference, I like white) with the Step #2 Polish, and then black with the Step Three Wax.

But really, I'm utterly confident you'd be a *LOT* happier getting the 1Z polish and putting something like Collinite wax over top of it. You just can't imagine how user-friendly and effective the 1Z stuff is until you try it. No way I could ever get the same results with the Deep Crystal stuff, not in a million years.

You are so politically correct!! :faint:

Which is why you should run for mayor. :bigups :bow

I figured that the Diamond System paint cleaner would not do a thing unless it has some bite. That stuff is as good as water for cleaning up stains.
