On sunday there i had the joy to head down to glasgow once again (think i might as well move there) to detail a new R8 :thumb:
the owner found DW to the thanks of VXRMARK detailing the R8 the other week. so thanks mark for posting the R8 :thumb:
so first off here`s a pic of the R8 before i started
now i can start
i pre soaked the R8 with a citrus cleaner mixed with water through the foam lance
i left the citrus on the car then layed the foam ontop of the citrus
these photo`s were taken about 5 mins after putting the foam on
after this stage i rinsed the citrus and foam off then washed with 2 buckets boath having gritt gaurds and a wash mitt
wheels were cleand using megs APC with a meg`s foam triger
once the R8 was washed it was time to take into the garage for a blow dry
once the R8 was dry i checked for any defects and found a couple (sorry but my digi cam couldn`t shoot them) there was one on the roof on the near side and also a few on the same side of the bonnet
next was to take the paint thickness
there was also some left over wax the dealer had kindly left on the R8
now was the time to unleash the makita with the 3m pad
with the car being so new the defects only needed menzerna finish polish
and here`s me hard at work
take note i dont wear jeans
once happy with the paint work it was time to cleanse the paint so it would be ready for waxing
to cleanse the paint i used the swissvax paint cleanser. i found this product very easy to work with and the results were very good indeed:thumb:
for the wax the owner wanted vintage so once again this was put on with my bare hands
the carbon fibre was trearted the same as the paint work
all plastic`s were treated to vintage
wheels were swissvax paint cleanser the zymo1 tittanum and tyres with A/G tyre dressing to give that matt look
Ahh the down pour as stopped so we got a chance to wheel the R8 outside and must say it sounded so sweet too
