okay i clayed my car 3 days ago using the mothers product. I wanted to verify with you detailing gurus if i did the correct procedure.

washed the car with meguires gold class

dryed my vehicle

did the whole mothers clay bar procedure

then applied the carn. wax which was in the mothers box.

was i suppose to add polish after the claybar procedure, then add the wax above this lay? or visa versa?

any input would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. theirs no turning back now right? or can i still rewash my vehicle and apply the meguires polish

You should polish before you apply your last step product (LSP) which would be your carnauba wax in this case. Any polishing you go back and do will remove the wax you have already applied so don't worry about screwing anything up. How do you intend to polish, and exactly what Meguiar's product do you intend to use?

I was just going to use my meguires stage 2 polish.

sorry for all the rookie questions. So you are telling me i can polish my car with (meguires stage 2) thus removing all the carnuaba wax i previously applied? then apply a new coat of wax?

Are you referring to Step 2 of the Deep Crystal System 3 step process? I don't know if that polish will remove the wax you have applied or not as it is not abrasive. I believe it acts more like a glaze. Generally speaking any polishing you are going to do should occur BEFORE waxing. Anyone else want to chime in here? You might want to just do all 3 steps of the system if you are doing this by hand. Then you know you got it right. I've used that system in my past, but now I have moved on to machine polishing instead of watching my arm fall off in the driveway.

My recomendation, go get some Megs Scratch X and polish by hand with that, then follow up with the Mothers Cleaner wax you already have. Should come out good, even though its done by hand.
