I was stoked on the outsome, and I am picky! The owner, well, she just wanted it cleaned up....and she wasnt there when I finished...she paid and left me about 30 minutes from finish time...never commented on the job....I hate that!!! The only thing they said was, "thats a lot of work and takes a long time huh?"...I wanted to say "yeah, that is why I get to charge what I do, if not more!!!" but I held my tongue...lol, they werent the humor type I could tell...but they did buy me lunch today...mmmm DEL TACO!!!

if you are saying the interior looks dirty still, its just those cheap plastic floor mat cover things...they were hideous....I told her to take them out when she shows it (selling it) off to people....the mats under came out clean, as well as the carpets...

Rewarding... Yeah, that's the least you could say! That's why I love doing this, it's so rewarding seeing what you can do with a cars paint and interior.

Nice job.

I have a few Benz's lined up as well for my first time....... did you find the clearcoat to be a bit hard on that Benz?? I've heard they're hard.

Great job on that car. It looks like an E430 to me though ;)

Hey Josh, I detailed a 2000 CL500 about a month ago that had some minimal spider webbing and haze. I found the clear to be pretty soft on that car as they came right out with a medium cut and white pad. I think the newer clears might be a little harder, I'm just not sure what year they changed the clear. :D

The last car I worked on was a Mercedes and the clear was pretty hard. I had a heck of a time chooseing the right polish that would take the swirls out. I had to step up to a pretty agressive polish to get them totally out.

Very nice work on the Mercedes. You definitely made the interior look good again and the exterior is amazing.:wow:

I think they changed over to the ceramic clear in 2005. I have a few 03's lined up and was wondering even if not ceramic clear how hard they are?

Thanks.:bigups

wow:

Thank you.

yeah i played with a few polish combos before i did the whole car...OHC, OC, 83, 80, IP....I think that IP did the most work and turned out the best, but I didnt have enough to spare, so I went with 83. Spritz a little QD on the pad and then polish and the stuff took about 8 passes before it would start to dust/dry...and it wiped up really easy too!

Great to hear, I have nearly the whole lize of Menzerna still unopened:clap:

Were you using a PC or rotary?

only PC....didnt feel like "still learning" on this specific car....i have used rotary on other cars with ease on the horizontals, its the vertical panels giving me trouble now....still need some practice
