Just Tried EX

I couldn't wait to try EX on my Black Santa Fe. Hyundai's paint is not on a par with the better makes and it's hard to get it to look really nice. The closest I've come is prepping with Mother's Phase 1 and 2 and topping with a couple of coats of S100.

Like I said, I couldn't wait. I went ahead and applied EX over the S100. A 45 minute wait and it was removed easily revealing the best looking finish I have yet achieved

Durability is the question. I'll put another layer on later this week and then try to stay away from further applications for a couple of months. I'll try.

I was skeptical, given my experience with VM and MW. Right this moment, though, I'm really high on this product! :xyxthumbs

If you like the look why worry about durability ( unless it is less than 1 month). :nixweiss Durability beyond one month is over played here at Autopia. This is a forum of detailing nuts and I can not see myself ever going beyond 2 weeks, let alone one month without a complete protection rejuveniation. This was done on a car that was driven last than 100 miles a month in only perfect weather. Even when I used Zaino I still found myself topping very often to achieve that ultra shine all the time. :o

EX is sooooo easy to use that a waxing session once a month is not too much to ask. If you are looking to extend the EX application for several months, a good addition would be the QD+ as a weekly QD.

Twenty-four hours after the application of EX over S100. It looks even better now. The car got rained on, so a going over with S&W followed by a QD with 3M Gloss Enhancer was called for. Oh Boy! The Black Santa Fe looks definitely "blacker" and the finish looks smoother and deeper - better even than three coats of S100.

I can't wait to put another coat of EX on the car to see if it can be improved even more.

I put the second coat of Poorboy's EX on the Santa Fe this morning. I must say that the black is blacker, smoother and deeper still! Mother's Phase 1 & 2 topped with a couple of coats of EX will be the regimen for the Santa Fe.

My Wife's Silver Spruce Avalon will continue the AIO/UPP routine. The "Silver Spruce," a sort-of light medium bluish silver, looks absolutely terrific with Platinum Ultimate Paint Protection!!

I would truly like to use UPP on the Santa Fe, but the black shows every single molecule of dirt or the most insignificant of surface marring. Thus, my Santa Fe gets the filler/glaze mar-hiding prep for the combination resin/carnauba product, EX.:xyxthumbs
