'06 G6 Gt

Finally had a second to give my car a mild polish and a seal. Going into daily driver only mode soon! :woot2:

I was pretty sleep that day though, so I didn't have the nerve to get all the lower trim cleaned up. :ignore Sometime soon though!



Process:



*Wash

*Clay (I only had minor tar on the bottom rockers, otherwise the clay was like brand new afterwards)

*Ultrafina on ultrafina 3m pad at 1800 rpm down to 1000 rpm after 3 passes.

*Swissvax Concorso Concours Wax x2. (pretty wet, but if it werent free, I wouldn't spend the money on it)

*ACDELCO glass cleaner on my rims (they're still my winter wheels)

*Tuxedo on my tires and rear bumper trim



Total time was about 1.5 hours.



I'm currently waiting on my dual exhaust fascia to come in...I have my muff waiting to be exposed! :chuckle:

I love it for dealer cars, but I would personally like to get back into my Dress It Right from automagic on my personal cars. Just didn't have any available at the time of my quick cleanup.
 
Nice I have an 06 GT Coupe and just got my wife an 08 G6 GXP 4dr. How do you like the HID's are that much better than the standards? I've been thinking about getting them for a while but the last time I did the conversion it didn't produce all that much extra light.

I found them to be a lot better. However, they are sort of patchy compared to the normal halogen bulbs. I'll try to get some pictures of the coverage. PS. I'm jealous of your wife's car. :(

I am pretty happy with the finish. I personally don't care for the car. It doesn't hold a candle to my old caddy, and it had 8 times the mileage this one has.



The goods:

-Fairly stylish for a 4 dr.

-Sporty suspension with the upgraded sway bars. (I can hang the back end out on turns if I want to)

-Catches the eye w/ the orange colour.

-Panoramic roof is as close to a convertible as it gets.



The bads:

-Gutless (can be fixed with a GTP option package)

-Sounds like a sewing machine

-Hair dresser persona

-Lots of clunks and beginnings of rattles, especially from the panoramic roof

-WIND NOISE from the sunroof

-Cheap interior



Overall, for my daily driver, I really can't complain. I have a doctor speed intake for it and am just waiting on my rear fascia so I can get my dual tips put on. It will definatly feel sportier once I can actually hear the car working.

Steve the GXP is nice it but the best part about is the 6spd transmission it's so fast I'm sure if you put the 6spd on the 3.5 it would make a world of difference. My GT feels slower than my wife's 00 GA GT ( Now winter car.) I blame it all on the reluctance of the transmission to ever kick down. Then again I bought this car as a HWY driver to get to and from work in comfort which it does quite well. I thought that there was a recall on the rattles from the sunroof have you had the dealer check it out.. hope it's still under warranty.



I know wind noise though my front windows leak air like mad, pisses me off so much this is the nosiest framelsess windowed car I've ever owned.



Nice color though quite different!
