Detailed: 2001 BMW 325i

My dad deserves everything and including a fully detailed car. He has only had it for a month or so and I could tell it desperately needed to be cleaned up. Didn’t get to do the interior, also have to do something about those moldings and get a few cosmetic items to make the exterior more cleaner.

Wash:

Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash & Gloss

Clayed:

Pinnacle’s Ultra Poly Clay

Meguiars Quik Detailer

Paint Correction:

Ultimate Detailing Machine

Menzerna Super Intensive Polish via LC yellow pad speed 6

Menzerna Nano Polish via LC white pad speed 6

LSP:

Poorboy's World Natty’s Paste Wax – BLUE

Stoner’s Invisible Glass

Aerospace 303

Surf City Garage Beyond Black Tire Pro

Also has anyone had this happen to them with a few pads?

First pad I'm assuming removed oxidized paint? Purchased from Chemical Guys.

Next pad was my main pad I used it through the entire detail until it started to fall apart. This was my first time using it and I purchased it from Chemical Guys.

This was my saviour got this one from Autogeek and it was perfect throughout the clean up.

Was my yellow pad a defect or was I messing it up on purpose?

Great Detail! I love the midnight blue... The pads from chemical guys, are they lake Country?..

Thanks!

You know I hope so because thats what I paid for.

Description of their product:

"5-1/4' Inch DA Yellow Cutting Pad- LAKE COUNTRY CCS TECHNOLOGY"

Great job on that. Looks amazing. From those shots it does not appear that the paint was oxidized at all. I wonder if you might have removed some healthy paint with that yellow pad/SIP combo or I could be totally wrong.

I didn't post pictures of the bumper but the paint was severely oxidized and I used that orange pad on it and it removed all the oxidation and let the paint nice and smooth just like the other pictures.

Nice! Awesome job!

Nice!

Tell him to see Jon Lewis at Chapman on Camelback if he ever needs it serviced. That's my brother-in-law :D

Where were those "after" pics from your photoshoot taken?

Will do.

I took those pictures down the street from where I live. Here in Chandler there are a lot of man made lakes and this one happen to have office buildings and such.

Awesome job! Car looks great:goodjob Weather looks nice too, it's about time we get some decent weather here:(

WOW.....It look really great!!

Thank you!

Wow, I am impressed with your work. That was a great turnaround.

About the pads, I had the exact same problem with my 5.5 LC Pads (I think I ended up destroying 2 in one session) and I was using a UDM with the 5" stock BP. I got mine from Danase and they looked like the same ones that you have. That last pad from AutoGeek that you showed looks different though...is it a different size? Are they possibly Genuine LC pads and the others not?

Anyone have any thoughts on this??

The last pad from Autogeek is a 6.5 pad. It feels different from the Chemical Guy's pad. Both pads are advertised as Lake Country but both are different. I don't think I will be buying my pads from CG's anymore.

Can't believe you did all that with an UDM. Looks like a rotary job. Great work. I imagine your Dad was very happy. :up

Thanks man! I bet if I knew how to use a rotary it would have cut the job in half.

Great job! I love that color.

Thank you, so do I. It looks black in the dark and under different likes it has a purple hue to it and in the daylight it is one of my favorite BMW blues.
