OP vs 106ff

I don't know about you guys, but I apply BOTH Menz FPII and OP to my pad, cuts down on dusting and works longer, while still cutting hard with the Menz.

:waxing:

I have both. I like to use OP when I am feeling lazy. It never acts up and has long working times but lacks the cut of 106ff.

I have used both plenty of times and Menzerna products are true proven winners!:getdown

I have tried so many products from all around the world and Menzerna is a world leader in true precision cut.

As i am a novice at rotary polishing and could not decide between the two, i bought both. I must say that I love the user friendliness of OP. The working time is excellent, it doesn't gum up, and wipes off easy. It is fairly versitile and gave great results with all the pad combos i tried. The catch is that is doesn't have the horsepower, efficiency, or near perfect finish of 106ff. This is very noticeable on harder clear coats. They are both really good products it just depends on your personal taste and desired result. My final decision is to use the OP to perfect my rotary skills on the lighter colored, bigger vehicles with softer paint and where perfect amazing results are not totally mandatory. Price also comes into play if depending on how much you want to put into it. For the Chevys, OP is great, but 106ff is a bit overkill. The 106ff I will use for the nicer, darker cars with harder clear coats.

Hope this helps.

Anyone else use both and prefer one over the other?

I've used 106, looks really good initially (very crystal clear finish) but the swirls I thought were gone came back in a couple weeks. I thought it was my own fault until I saw several more posts with others having the same issue. I think if the finish is swirl free prior to using 106 you won't have any issues though.

OP has a deeper look that compliments my typical choice of CMW to finish. Plus the lack of dusting and utter goof-proof ease of use really are nice too.

With a rotary though, I finish with 3M's Ultrafina. Always my first choice. That is, unless something else comes along that is better. ;)

Scott, how do you feel about Meg's #82 via rotary in place of ultrafine/ultrafina?
