Summary
Not the best for metallic (July 31, 2004)
Reviewer's Comments
I had heard all the hype about NXT Tech Wax and was pleased to find it at Target; I bought the Tech Wax, Wash, Tech Protectant and Booster Wax.
The wax smells good, as does the entire NXT line. It goes on pretty easily and comes off pretty well...I did the whole car and waited about 30 minutes before removing. Word to the wise...it comes off much better than the spray/booster wax. I did everything by hand after washing with the NXT wash (nice smell & good value, BTW), then used the Mother's clay bar. I wish I had polished the paint before applying the wax, but you live & learn. The NXT would have taken some of the polish off, but I had to redo the rear quarter panel to remove a scratch...it looked much better with Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner & Deep Crystal Polish to prep the paint.
Silver isn't the easiest color to make look great however I was very pleased for the first week or so. I applied the spray booster wax after each wash (word to the wise...it is easier to just apply another coat of the Tech Wax). After some rain & 2 washes in the first week and a half the silver started to white out a bit. The Lunar Mist Metallic on my Solara is a very metallic silver. It looked great from a distance, but you couldn't see the sparkle.
On another color, this wax may be a great value...but not for me. It still beads up nicely and I'm sure it is protecting okay because it has 3 coats of booster wax on it.
I'm going to start over & reclay w/ Sonus, use Sonus Paint Cleanser & the Klasse twins...then Pinnacle Signature...maybe I just had to spend some money, LOL.
