Ok first off a few things. I rated instructions as poor, since it does not come with any. Nor do you need any. So that should not deter you from buying it.
Secondly I did give construction good, but my pad did kind of \"warp\" after quite a few uses. David gladly send me a new one free of charge (have not opened or used new one yet). So they do give great support and service! The pad kind of got a crater in the middle.
Anyways on to the review, I used this on many cars noticing it worked well. I learnt of its great power when I used it on my black G35! The paint was faded, waterspots and major swirls. The 6.5 inch pads(or was it 6?), were doing ok and not too great. I swapped out to this 4incher coupled with PB SSR2.5 and tested it on the fender.
Shiet this just worked perfect removing and leaving a 99% perfect finish! Plus with the small size, I just used this pad on the whole car. Due to the small size and shape of the G35, it worked very well.
I also proceeded to use this on my black Solara and once again same results! it became my go to pad for killing swirls, water marks and what not.
Works well on light colored cars, but never noticed how well and easy until used on black. I love it!

The Sonus SFX-1 4" Spot Pad is the ideal solution for polishing out surface scratches, water or bird spot etching and heavy swirl marks when using a Porter Cable 7424 dual-action machine. Larger pads simply cannot apply enough energy to the polish to effectively "cut" the paint to make the repair. The The Sonus SFX-1 4" Spot Pad focuses the dual-action machine's energy on a smaller area to get more work out of the polish.
Use with Sonus Restore (SFX-1) or other compounds and paint cleaners designed to remove 1200 grit sanding marks. When used in conjunction with the proper backing plate, the Sonus SFX-1 4" Spot Pad can be used with a dual-action polisher, rotary buffer or cordless drill.
The Sonus SFX-1 4" Spot Pad is an excellent solution for buffing clear plastic headlight lenses, too. Use in conjunction with your favorite plastic polish and a cordless drill motor to remove scratches and light clouding caused by UV exposure.
NOTE: This pad feels soft but can be aggressive when used at speeds in excess of 700 RPM (rotary) or 3000 OPM (dual-action). To prevent paint burns or removing excessive paint film thickness, work at slower machine speeds. Keep machine moving and check your work often.
CYCLO POLISHER USERS: This pad also fits the Cyclo Polisher and is an excellent choice for buffing out heavy oxidation, swirls, stains and other stubborn imperfections.
