What are your top 3 coating choices and why?

With how busy it has been at the shop I have been off the forums for the better part of a year. I`m trying to catch up on the world of coatings. To date the only coating I have used is Opti-Coat 2.0...mostly because it is most readily available to me in my area. My question (and please forgive me if this question has been asked recently), is what would your top 3 coating choices be and why? Ease of application, durability, look, cost per application, etc all being considered, what are your top 3 go to coatings?

That`s easy exo v2. Easy to apply. Super hydrophobic and lasts 18 plus months.

Gloss coat super durable nothing sticks looks super shiny

22ple v3. Easy to apply great looks on for 7 months and going strong.

Polish angel Viking coat with white alabaster topper after wash. This is a beauty coating. Best looking of the bunch. Also least hydrophobic unless I use a topper. But boy does it look amazing. On since July. Beads fairly well for short time. Now I just top it up. Takes little time but a pita all the same. Would use on garage when not DD jmho

I can`t answer this question directly as I`ve only used one coating. That said, I don`t know how it can get much easier than BlackFire`s Crystal Coat. I`ve been very please with the way it looks.

Of the 3 that I tried... so far my favorite is Exo V2. Detailers paint coating isn`t bad either. I just love the slickness of Exo. Got about a year out of the detailers coating and then it was just about gone. Waiting to see the durability of exo.

I also tried CQUK but didn`t even get 6 months out of it. I attribute that to me not applying it properly so I can`t really rate it on anymore than I didn`t like how it wasn`t slick AT ALL and they say you need to top it with reload. So IMO, I don`t like it. If I`m putting a coating on its because I want the ease of maintaining it and not needing to reapply anything

Re: What are your top 3 coating choices and why?

I`ve only used Pinnacle Black Label (version 1)- version 1 still effective almost at the two year mark on my DD outside 24/7 truck. (although it did get two coats of synergy six months after the pbl was applied)
the bottle is now just about empty though so I got my eyes on the uber coating in the near future.

plan to repolish and start something new next spring on the truck. Exo v2 has always had my eye as well.

    1. pbl (only one used- v1...if v2 is easier, all the better I had no issues with v1) It may not be the best but I found it easy to apply and it has lasted for me. looks awesome as well..from my experience it brings out metallic flake quite well

2 and 3 based off my desire to purchase only- have never used either
    2. uber coat
    3. exo v2

Re: What are your top 3 coating choices and why?

Ive only used PBL V2 and it was very easy to use. Looks good but doesnt provide the gloss of something like gloss coat. My only gripe.

next time around, in about 18 months, ill do the uber coat
