    Hand applicator pad cleaning help

Hi guys. First, I just want to say that I have a little(lots) OCD when it comes to using any cleaning products on my baby like many of us on here. I have a ton of nice microfiber towels and have no problems cleaning them. I have it down to a system and when I`m down they come out brand new looking. I use a combo of DP Pad Rejuvenator and CG Microfiber wash. Gets the crap out after a long soak and then a wash. Towels come out soft and fluffy and I have no problem using them on the car again.

However, I cannot get any hand applicator pads clean enough that feel confident in using them on my Stang again. I will sometimes use them again on my daily since I`m no where near as OCD with that car but then I toss them. I don`t mind when I used to use the cheapo yellow pads but recently I`ve tried the Lake Red CCS pads and the CG and Backfire UFO pads.

So I`m curious of your techniques. I just bought a buffer so I assume I can apply it to those pads as well.

    Thanks!

Please move to correct section if this isn`t the place.

If you`ve applied an LSP with them some of them are pretty close to impossible to get completely clean. Only thing I`ve ever found that will do it is mineral spirits. I find it best to just have dedicated applicators and reuse them for that specific product.

You can use an APC or degreaser usually and that will get a lot out, but it`s tough. I have a lot of dedicated hand and DA pads for products like Duragloss 501, BFWD, FK1000P, etc.

I have lots of hand applicators, most of them are little rectangles, a sponge covered in microfiber, and of course, foam applicators, that are usually yellow and round..

I try to clean them all in a 1-envelope solution of Snappy Clean to 3 -gallons water, (the same solution I use to clean my L/C foam pads), and if they get better, (and they usually do), I keep them, and if not they go to other tasks, and eventually to the trash can...

Great. Appreciate the feedback. Will try mineral spirits as I have some lying around.

And yes, I use them for applying Supernatural wax. Had the same issue when using Pete`s 53 and lava wax and other previously used waxes.

I didn`t care for the microfiber rectangles. They just seemed to soak up the product. I like the UFO pads but they`re pricey. If I can reuse them, that would be great. Keeping them dedicated is a good idea too. Do you store them in a zip lock bag?

Use IPA after mineral spirits to get the mineral spirit stink out of the pad.

    Isopropyl alcohol. 70 or 91%.

You can find it in any pharmacy. Don`t get the green one - get the clear one.

The BF pads are my favorite, so I soak them for a day or 2
In a tall skinny container so they stay forcibly submerged in BF advanced pad cleaner straight up,
every so often pull em out squeeze the wax out in the sink not your soak, rinse to check, put back in to soak if needed.
    Works every time.
