Dp tire coating.

I have it on my car. Didn`t like the prep for it with the DP tire and wheel cleaner. I wasted an entire bottle trying to get two tires completely clean. Then when I coated it looked white and odd so I used Mothers Back-to-Black tire cleaner to start over. Used it once to remove the crappy looking coating and to clean the tire. Worked a million times better and less scrubbing.

I don`t like tire coatings at all...tried 3 different brands...I personally think it makes the tires look fake and plastic looking....then as a business owner...you up sell this to a customer and it will come back to you

Interesting. Thanks for the honest feedback. I was thinking of going this route after i finish my opti bond. ( That i love) But think i will stick with the tried and true.

I like it actually. Since the instructions suggest applying the cleaner to a DRY tire, after the initial scrubbing I use my blower to dry the tire in between cleanings-so in each case I`m starting the cleaning process on a dry surface. My tires are in good shape so three scrubbings seems to be my magic number and the 1x coating last between 6-8 weeks. They looked clean and fresh with a nice luster finish. No, they don`t look like I just dressed with some shiny tire gel but they also don`t look like they`ve been neglected. Tried Tuff Shine and hated it. The DP Tire Coating kit works for me.

I`m going to throw this one at you. How about Turtle Wax Jet Black Black Endura Shine Tire Coating. It`s pretty good stuff and it`s cheap. There is a whole thread on this over at AGO.

I`ve used it myself and saw 2 solid months with just 2 coats and cleaning the tires with a brush soap and water when washing.

Guys using a ton of tire cleaner to prep the tires - it`s not necessary. First - clean the tires with APC as clean as you can - that will get you 80% there. Then; dilute the tire cleaner 1:1 with DI water. It will be just as effective - but you will get 2x as much.

I`m guessing DP tire coating is similar to TS... Which is worth it because you no longer will have to clean tires. It may not look as good as conventional tire dressings, but it looks better than any regular dressing that has been in the rain one time.

If you curb a tire - just put on another coat or two and it`s fixed. You don`t have to remove all the old coating.
