I used to valet park cars, this guy had this brand new Porsche and had this clear film all over the front hood and mirrors. Everyone in the garage used to trash these cars so I thought I was be a super nice employee (I liked the job because I had a good paying first job so it was fun for me not work) and REMOVE the; as I thought, shipping plastic on the car. Boy was that stuff hard to take off, I thought it came right off so you see me leaning on this guys car pulling the heck out of this weird plastic. Only when I joined this fourm did I realize what I did that day. he had like 4 inches of curled up Expel on his hood. It wasn`t pretty we could say.

These are the same guys that have two Porsches and a Landrover. When you bash up the Porsche, they act like they lost a nickel or something.

Just a few pics of a Fat Bob Harley I did some work on.

How`d you find that Vivid Black paint? I`ve been beating my brains out on it for 3 bikes and about 6 years and it`s the softest, most miserable finish I`ve ever polished. Wiping off polish residue with a plush MF puts swirls right back into it.

You may not have experienced that on a Dyna... my fiberglass finishes fine, it`s just the tin. I`ve heard similar reports on softails. Dyna and Sportster owners think the clear is fine. Which leads me to think the clearcoat they put on at York is suspect as the other models come out of Kansas City.

Nice work, BTW. What`d you use on it?

It`s not a 100% correction. I too had issues with putting scratches back in the paint. Under a harsh light it still shows some hazing but out in the sun under normal conditions it looks very deep and suprisingly good. It was much harder to get a pic of the remaining spider webbing also. I know my supplies limit my results also but I need a few jobs first to help pay for better products. My friends comment when he came to pick it up was "Wow. it looks brand new again!" I`ll take that as an accomplishment.

    I used the following:

Mequiars #82 Swirl Free Polish- by hand
Mequiars #7 Show Car Glaze- by hand
Followed up with Zaino Z-6 Detail Spray
Topped Off With AutoGlym High Definition Wax
Followed up with Zaino Z-6 Detail Spray

    For the chrome:

    NEVR- DULL Wadding
Followed up with Zaino Z-6 Detail Spray
