Luster Detailed: `67 Vette Vert! 427/400 Marina Blue (x2)!

This was a paint correction only on a `67 Corvette convertible, 427/400hp, 100% correct numbers matching, Marina blue, Marina blue, FACTORY AIR, and the rarest of all options for this car..... POWERGLIDE. Very rare car indeed.

The car was painted and polished in 1988. Never polished since that date. Surprisingly, the swirls weren`t that bad!

    Process:

    1. QEW wash
    2. Meg`s Quik Clay
    3. M105/PC/LC Orange KBM
    4. M205/PC/LC Red KBM
    5. IPA wipedown
    6. Z5P/PC/3M Waffle Pad
    7. Z6 wipedown
    8. Z8 wipe/finish

Just a couple BEFORE SHOTS: As you can see the swirls are not horrendous, but still in need of correction.

    Taped off for comparison:

    The "Old-Timer" at Work!!!

Applying M105 to Pad... then PRIMING with my fingers... rubbing it into the pad completely:

Many After Shots: (One of my favorite cars!)

Excellent work as usual Bill :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
    The paint is glowing.

By the way, I too have a Craftsman Creeper, they make detailing so much easier.

    again, great job:thumbup:

Thanks Nick... Yeah, I have 2 Craftsman creepers. The one in the picture is the smaller, shorter version (actually, I weigh 290, so I`m pushing the limits of that little stool!!!).

The other is a little taller, padded seat, and very sturdy... I think it has a 350 duty rating!

I usually take the little one for "mobile" service.

    Awesome work Bill!

Looks the the paint work was done much better than the `66 I did. Love that hood too!

All it needs now is some ugly chrome wheels!

Amazing!!! Bill I am jealous of all the cool Vette`s you detail. VERY cool cars, you do such great work. The Marina blue looks very similar to the Nassau (sp?) Blue on a few of the C5`s. AWESOME!

Haha..... yeah, that`s his Motor Home. Yes, he`s got money. Enough money that he could afford for it to be polished!
