    2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 - Gloss Coat

Finished up a two day polish and coat job last night.

Started with the wheels and tires. Used Wheel Woolie, grout sponge, Tuf Shine tire brush, cheap MF for tire wipe down and plastic razor blade for tar in the barrels with Sonax Full Effect, Megs D101 1:1 & 5:1 and Stoners Tarminator.

Black painted areas on the wheels were hand polished with Megs UC, tires got Poorboys Natural Look and wheels were sealed with CarPro Hydro2. Still a few deeper scratches remained but I did go over them one more time after the second picture.

The car got an ONR wash, decon with CarPro IronX, clayed, foamed with Carpro Reset and APC mixture and then got a two bucket wash. This was the condition of the paint out in the sun.....

Next the car was taped off and started the polishing. The whole car was done with HD Adapt on 5" LC white CCS pads, BnS microfiber finishing pads and 3" BnS yellow foam pads. The cell phone camera didn`t do a very good job of picking up the defects with the LED spot lights so the 50/50 shots don`t look like much.

After 9 hours of polishing the car was wiped down with CarPro Eraser and was taken outside for inspection. It looked good so the tape came off, was foamed again with CarPro Reset and APC mixture and then got another 2 bucket wash and CarPro Eraser wipe down once dried off and back in the garage. Spoiler was removed by the owner and was done as well off the car. I kind of failed at the sun shots here.

Now the car was ready for coating. I still had one CarPro applicator block left but I decided to try something else that I could find local and cheaper. I found a 2-pack of these for $1.

Then I cut the applicator and cut and 8" x 8" microsuede into 4 squares. I don`t know why they look dirty but they were clean and new. This method ended up working very well and was a bit more flexible then the CarPro applicator. However I think it would have been a little bit better if there wasn`t the hole in the center.

    Here we go!

And after 2 days, 22 hours of labor and very little sleep.............................Here is the finished product!

    Thanks for looking!
    Matt

Thanks guys! It`s a good thing I finished when I did. Yesterday I got some bug that my wife had. That would have sucked trying to work on the car and have to take puke breaks haha.

Great job. Used opti-coat 2.0 before on a few cars. i have some details lined up for this spring that i am going to give Gloss coat a try. The car looks great man..... Costumers don`t realize how much time is involved with a complete detail

Thanks! I haven`t used OC2.0, I have only used CQuartz UK twice before Gloss Coat but the Gloss Coat seemed easier to apply and just melt into the paint where the CQUK I really had to buff out.
