I`m no help on coatings, but I`de personally rather see a
"Add 20%" for Large Vehicles (22% is what you guesstimated for the $450 to $550 first price )

If i have a small car i don`t wanna look at a higher price. Lower prices attract

You could list a few Large Vehicles as an example.

    Good luck

My basic package (exterior) would normally include a spray sealant like Rupes P808 or something - just coz it`s fast easy and should last a couple months
Let me say this... straight off the bat.

DUDE! YOUR GREAT AT WHAT YOU DO! DO NOT for a second let any of a clients wants dictate what you want. I NEVER install a coating unless the paint is being corrected to 90% or above, it will reflect badly on you (No pun intended). I`ve had many clients ask if I could just "throw" a coating on. I asked a CPA, you know you could just file my taxes with what ever looks good on paper and omit all the cash receipts... he got it real quick. It`s your work, your rep and honestly it speaks to how they and you, value you. If they value you, they will be WILLING to spend the extra to get it completely corrected.

At this point, it`s not a question of if you can get the paint to 100%, it`s just a matter of convincing them. I have no doubt you`ll be able to.

I`ve been looking at upping my prices all around as 150-200 for 8-12 hrs of quality work does pay diddly for hours after covering overhead and supplies

Re: Coating Price Check - flame suit on

I really appreciate all the feedback here...and even others posting their prices (which I never expected)

I feel like honest, objective pricing discussions are kind of like the red headed step child of our industry

I posted a similar question on some of my `detailing` facebook groups and I essentially was shunned for "giving quality work away"

Just goes to show how awesome Autopian`s are compared to the rest!

I will be trying to nail down pricing and post up my *revised* pricing tomorrow hopefully.

I`m at the point where I`d rather have less work and get paid what I feel I`m worth than potentially getting burnt out again.

That`s exactly how I feel. Keep in mind, all our prices are based on overhead and location.

I know my prices are probably some of the highest on the forum but I`m also in one of the most expensive places in the nation and factor in the amount time (over 10 years experience) and every single tool under the sun. My theory is, you pay our prices because we carry the most advanced products, best tools and employ the best techniques both in safety and to yield the top tier results.

Ah, forgot to put this in. I think this is one of the best ways to view why we charge what we charge.

Remember, ANYONE can cut the heck out of the paint and make it look good but what makes a pro is that we remove the least amount clear possible to achieve the best result. Our job is not only to restore but preserve and protect the paint. That`s what separates the pro`s from the Joes!

Re: Coating Price Check - flame suit on

Well so far this has helped.
I just booked two vehicles for 200 each when I would have charged 140 or 150 in the past. (pretty standard detail- focusing on interior mostly)

I`ve been carrying around my pricing sheet on me (in my back pocket) so that helped a lot to actually have something concrete to reference.

Why I never did that before- I have no idea. lol. shame on me

I just need to tweak it a little more.

Re: Coating Price Check - flame suit on

I did the same thing. Created a price sheet on my phone notes to reference.
