47 Panhead Harley Detail for Easy Rider Mag
The local indy Harley shop I do detail work for built this 47 panhead machine. Easy Rider Magazine is going to do a photo shoot and feature it. I was asked to do a show room detail on it. I used all Poorboys World products...I polished the paint and metals with pro-polish and pro-polish 2 and black hole glazed for the POP...The rubber I used bold & bright...

looks great. i have 1 question, why use a glaze for final protection?. glazes contain fillers that hide some left over swirls not removed from polishing so why use one? why not finish the job with a nice wax or sealant? the bike looks great! nice work Dave!
Re: 47 Panhead Harley Detail for Easy Rider Mag
The reason I used the glaze on the polish was for the POP factor only. This bike is a garage queen and the paint is in near perfect condition. I also had done a full detail on this bike last year where I had done a sealant wax treatment...This was just to get the bike super clean for the photo shoot and I was thinking the glaze would make it POP a lot more than wax or sealant...just a personal choice was all
Thanks

super nice, old school baby. at least they put a spring loaded seat on it to help that rigid frame from beating the rider to death. :D

I have only done one bike and that cured me of that $hit. I can only imagine what goes into making one ready for a professional photo shoot. Looks great.

I was the same years back, but when I got the opportunity to work with this shop that changed. I get to use their scissor lift that gets the bike at eye level, huge advantage...then I have a small jack that I can lift each wheel to really dial them in. Along with developing different processes and tools, it`s not as hard as one thinks.

That was before Harleys were yuppie bikes. Old guys (like me) need to pee after getting our kidneys beaten up.
