Poorboy’s detail – 1998 4x4 Ford Expedition “jacked up”
I know the owner of this vehicle only because his wife is part owner of the mechanic’s shop where all 3 of my vehicles are service and maintained. First let me say, I was not hired to do full correction on this vehicle. Second let me say, that this paint needed some wet sanding or a repaint. The customer is getting ready to sell the truck. My job was to clean the paint to get it ready for sell. As you can see, this 4x4 is used to go 4 wheeling. I am not positive, but it looks like it was driven through a forest, and might have bumped a tree or two. Also – minor paint cracks here and there and clear coat failure across the top of the passenger doors.
Here we go:
Exterior only
Exterior trim, tires and wheel wells – APC and brushed and rinsed before main wash
Wash 2 bucket method – PB’s SS&S
Riccardo Blue Clay – PB’s S&W mixed 50/50 with water
Quick review on the Riccardo Clay – Tacky Tacky Tacky - worked great too!!
I did 1 pass per each - as stated below
Poorboy’s SSR 2.5, Makita Rotary, orange LC CCS pads 7.5”, 6” & 5” – different pads for different areas
Poorboy’s PWC Blue – Flex – white LC CCS pads 6.5”
Poorboy’s PWC Blue – PC – white LC CCS pads 4” on front chrome bumper.
Roof – I use PWC blue by hand along the top sides of the doors, top of back tailgate and around the sunroof. There was no possible way or reason to polish in between the 8”x 8” squares in the middle of the roof rack)
Hood - came out good but there are scratches and swirls that are still there.
PB’s Trim Restorer on all exterior trim
PB’s BnB on tires and wheel wells.
Pb`s - EXP - 1 coat - MF applicator dampened with water.
Wash buckets and Clay

:cool:WOW That thing is a beast. For what you did to it(no major paint correction) it looks like a different truck. I like that fancy muffler he has going on. You and me both need to go to Wierd Wally`s taping school:rofl:rofl:rofl(I don`t know guy`s real name)but check out the "02" yellow Ranger if you wanna see how to really tape a car off.... :dcrules

Nice write up and pics...oh the truck looks great as well....have to agree with Steve...paint the undercarriage again
Re: Poorboy’s detail – 1998 4x4 Ford Expedition “jacked up”
Nice, a truck that`s actually used. Most of the "built" 4x4s never see more dirt than the shoulder of the road! Great improvement! Looks much better. :bigups Thanks for sharing.

Called a "snorkel"... just ask us redneks! In the military, where these things are used to "swim" the truck, there`s typically about three days of Preventive Maintenance (almost a disassembly) performed on the vehicle after being submerged. You need one on the tailpipe also in order to use a snorkel properly.
If this thing was actually dunked enough to require a snorkel, with no extended tailpipe and no complete PM, I`d treat it like a flood vehicle.
Great looking woods truck though, and super clean-up!

Thanks guys for the comments
When the customer picked up the vehicle (BTW - they loved it) they told me that they have been in mud up over the wheel wells.

I absolutely have to know how much it cost, in total for lift, tires, wheels, rack, lights, snorkit, etc. I have a 2000 model expedition and this is exactly what I have been wanting to do to mine. Please let me know how much, approximately, it cost you to do this please.???!!!!!!:)
