    Old Member Returning

I joined this forum many many years ago but haven`t been on in years bc I really didn`t care to keep the "looks" primo. I keep them mechanically as good as folks here keep the appearance of the vehicle primo. But I just bought a new vehicle and will concentrate on keeping it also looking good. Not sure I was retired when I last posted..lol.

I have been retired for 15 years. The new vehicle is a Spark and my other two vehicles are an 08 Forester with 164K miles and and an 01 Nissan with 150K miles. I will be giving it to my granddaughter next year for a college present. I know it sounds like a lame present but..like I said it is mechanically perfect and has the SR20DE engine which is known to run "forever". It uses essentially no oil.

Well TMI but I hope to relearn a lot!!

    Thanks, Al

adc100- Welcome back! IMO any functional car that you "give away" is far from a "lame present" and IMO#2 your daughter oughta have different priorities than "how nice her free car is" (and I somehow bet that she *does* have her priorities in order ).

Welcome back! I agree, no running car is a "lame" present. I`m sure she will appreciate it. Teach her how to keep it in good condition and she will have that for the rest of her life.

Thanks guys. All other things being equal she does have `most` of her priorities in order. She does tend to pay attention to `most` of what I have to say.

I have a lot of questions but I need to sort of get back in the grove of thing again. One thing I did do is buy some Mothers Brazillian Carnuba Cleaner Wax. I am not really into spending huge amounts of time on cosmetic stuff. Mainly looking to keep bugs and road dirt repelled. Also will be looking for the best way and products to clean a cloth seat that has lots of stains over 8 years.

adc100- I`d just go over it with a good AIO (probably Zaino AIO) and top that with FK1000P after the next wash and maybe another coat after the *next* wash. That oughta provide great protection and easy cleaning for many months.

Since I wound up jumping the gun..can I use the Kare`s over the Mothers Carnuba. I am guessing.."no"

Sorry, I have no idea but I kinda doubt it.
