    Radio Advertising

I am looking at doing some radio advertising for my detail business. The current offer that would closely fit in with my budget would include 120 commercials played over 3 months on 3 different radio stations. I would also be one of 5 businesses in my area that would be a sponsor of a complete turkey dinner giveaway from a local grocery store.

My biggest questions is who has done a radio ad and what kind of success did you have with it? I am a little nervous about the investment during this time of year but I believe the extra attention on my business will help me to continue turning a profit.

    Thoughts?

    in real estate it`s
    location

    in radio ads it`s
    timing
    timing
    timing

drive times being most expensive and imho hits the audience you want to target
Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!

    Re: Radio Advertising

Well, you have to see if you can get any true data reads on how many people actually listen to the radio anymore, to be sure you are going to get your $$$ worth...

Me, I have been listening to Satellite radio for what - 10 years?...

If it were me I would want to get better exposure on the Internet - because they can hit the Link and go to your awesome, user friendly website, look at your pics, testimonials, pricing, and leave you an email, or call your number on there...

If they are driving, they then have to remember what it was your Ad said and then try to remember your phone nbr or website url...

    Re: Radio Advertising

My glorious Mercury Sable is equipped with a tape deck and radio which not only allows me to listen to AM frequencies, but FM channels as well. I would consider myself a FM channel connoisseur and think the only ads that are worth their price, are the really catchy ones. If I hear any ad, there`s a good chance I`m going to change the channel. Especially if it`s bland and boring, but if it`s funny or catchy I might continue to listen. I think it`s pretty difficult to make a catchy auto detailing ad over the radio, but if you can do it I think it`s worth it. Otherwise, I think you`d get a better ROI with Google Ads (targeted locally) or internet advertising. Maybe even sponsoring a local car show or doing something for a car club.

The Turkey Dinner idea sounds really good though.
