Rough draft for my new logo

One of my best friends is a graphic designer and an amazing artist. For a steak dinner, I talked him into making me a new logo. 2 hours later, heres what I was sent. Its only the rough draft and Im told there will be alot more detail in the finished product. Looking for some feedback

The only thing I`d be concerned about is how that would translate into black-and-white line art if you were getting something printed up that way. If the "PRO DETAIL" text wasn`t on top of the car pic, it wouldn`t be an issue.

Aside from that, it looks fine.

Two things I see that I would change

You don`t need Pro in the detailing that should be expected

Your bottom tag line seems a tad much for me

"Showcar Quality To You" less words to me makes the card easier to read IMO

I expressed the same concerns. He assured me the actual color that will be used is called "athletic gold" and shows up well in white. The black will be outlined in the same color so that it will show up on black shirts. He does this for a living so I trust his judgment. The colors aren`t set in stone anyway. The finished product will look much better.

If your going to use this on your business cards don`t forget that the back is a great way to advertise your services. It doesn`t clutter the front. I forgot when I had mine made. Plus a UV coating will make your card hold up longer if they just put it in the car. I at least did that.

I know what your saying, but that`s been my legal business name for several years. Had the tag line for a long time as well. Just one of those things that I sometimes wish were differant, but its part of the business and I hate change lol.

I`m planning on doing that. Never have in the past, but I figured I would try the front/back cards this time.

I think the color scheme is a little tough on the eyes to read. I had to do a double take on "Flannel`s"

The colors are my main concern. He is supposed to be playing around with differant schemes and sending me 3 or 4 differant ones. This is going to be on a 7x16 trailer as well as cards and shirts so its gotta be right.

I might suggest a navy blue/gold theme to try....Blue being the car and bottom half of panels...and gold being in the place of the yellow

I believe Pro Detail is a vital part of your advertising. It`s an affirmation which leaves out assumptions or doubts. Since you do bring detailing to their door, your tagline is good advertising.

I like the artwork too. Since detailing is an art, it should be artsy, and that it is. A stuffy card is for law and accounting firms.

Well since this has been revived, I think the only thing I`d change is the car.
Here`s my reasoning , right or wrong A real picture of a shiny car is more impressive than a drawing. Yeah that would be a great high school poster for a school wash and wax but not for a "PRO". A high end car or street rod that shows bling would catch my eye.

Maybe I`m out of touch, but I kinda get tired of seeing every single detailer in the history of the world advertise using some sort of "exotic" car. I mean, why advertise using something like a rare Ferarri or Bugatti Veyron - especially if that`s not the type of cars you detail. I suppose I`m just not real interested in those types of vehicles. I`d much rather see people use the advertising photo space to show a before and after of car(s) they`ve actually worked on.
I still don`t believe in grit guards.

true, but a nice Infinity, Lexus, Mercedes, Cadillac, Escalade etc ...would look good ... I would not use a car you would not ever be detailing either.

edit ... my first web site used a customer`s car I think it was an e420 convt. ...if you have a customer`s car that could be used it would be even better for advertising purposes.
