    How to handle Wicking Stains

Whats the best way to handle a carpet stain that keeps wicking up from underneath ? The stain seems to be removed but continues to show back up days later.

Pull the carpet and clean or replace the padding as needed. Make sure everything is dry before reassembling. You`ve got to eliminate the problem where it lies. Nylon carpets can do a remarkable job of bringing things to the surface (particularly oily substances) but in some cases with no real damage to the carpet.

    + 1 with mi hermano, GearHead_1 ----

It is still wet down there and that is why its wicking..

Did all the soap get extracted out with clean water ?

Do you have a fan to be able to dry that section out ?
Need to get lots of air movement across the top of that area to dry all the moisture still underneath..

Even with my Mytee HP60 Spyder which has a lot of water lift, I still try to get as little moisture and low foaming soap as possible into the carpet initially, to leave me room to Steam and rinse, then extract as long as I can to of course, get as much moisture out..
Press your vacuum or extractor tool down into the carpet to help get closer to the pad and hopefully its not saturated..

    Good luck,
    Dan F
