Far as the vents....a Tornador would be quick work. If not, and you can`t remove the vents easily, a tiny hair color brush would be tedious but sort of affective.
Sorry this had to happen to you..
I would rather initially vacuum and not rub it across the seats to avoid getting any dirt into more of the little tiny perforations, or scratching the leather..
Would never use water to further spread the dirt mixture into the perforations and then onto the seat bottom..
Perhaps a just moist cloth that will hold the dirt, can be carefully, carefully, wiped lightly across the top to get the majority of it out of the way so you can concentrate on what got into the perforations..
Have had to clear up gunk before in seat perforations and the only safe approach I have ever used is a really good metrovac with the thin plastic crevice tool to get the most suction in the smallest area, and then a very thin, smooth, smoothed on the end semi-stiff wire to go through each perforation that had something in it that had to come out..
It is not easy, some gunk responds better to this approach, but all approaches (and you may need all of them), will take time...
Good Luck, Mi Hermano !

I have used a little green machine to extract the seats. Spray mud. Brush gently and extract

Maybe some of his technique.
Sorta did a little of all of that (except tornador since I don`t have one or a compressor strong enough to run it)
Got the seats a little to wet in spots, so need it to dry some and will finish next week after all the rains stop. (I hope)
Need to invest in one of those doggie seat covers. Supposed to be easy on easy off so that you don`t need to leave them on all the time.

Besides the hair, kids are 10000000000000000000000000000000 % worse than dog.
Actually, they were at a party at baseball field yesterday. It started POURING, and they all ran out to field/baseline and started running, sliding etc.
So for the most part it`s the kids.
But brushing the hair out of carpets was a bear too.
