    Re: The "Really ?!?!?!?!" Thread

I just got back from LA. I was out there for a some R and R and to vist my son who is at UCLA for the Summer.

We went to a restaurant in LA, I pull up in my rental car and give the Valet the keys just like normal. He gives me a claim check and we go into the place to eat.

I come out, give him my ticket , he gets the car, I let my wife in, walk around give the valet 2 bucks and get in and start to drive away. The valet starts patting the side of my car as I drive away. I though I must have run over his foot. He says you only gave me 2 dollars? I said that a good tip in NY. He says yes its a good tip but the valet parking it 12 dollars? Dam.... where I live valet parking is free and you just tip the guy. There are empty meters that don`t need to be paid after 9PM empty all over the street. I was not sure if I was being F`d with so I put the car in park and ask for my ticket stub. Says nothing about 12 bucks for parking and there is no sign. He shows me a clip board that was on his podium not visible unless you look on the flat surface that says parking 12 dollars 2 hours. I go into restaurant and ask hostess if there is a charge for valet parking. My wife is embarrassed at this point but I don`t like getting taken. You guessed it-its 12 bucks to park and $15 over 2 hours. Paid guy and parked in meters outside of LA`s best restaurants the rest of the vacation. Just bothers me to get that extra charge for nothing.

I was about to BBQ a whole Filet Mignon (the coals were almost ready) when suddenly all 4 legs gave out like the WTC on my Webber Charcoal BBQ (Really ?!?!?!?!). Somehow I managed not to get burned durring the collapse and restabilized the BBQ on the ground using some bricks to support it.

The BBQ was still a success!

Looks like a dung beetle. Do you have elephants near by? Yeah, I watched a nature show once.
