    The Forum Family

If you`ve been on Autopia for any length of time, you probably have the same feeling that I have. You get to know members here even though you`ve never met them, it`s a family of sorts. That said, I`ll share this, I lost my Pop on Sunday. I`ve had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him over the past 10 years and right now it`s like looking at a big donut sitting in front of me and all I can see is the hole. It`s been tough. I`ll miss my friend.

    Re: The Forum Family

Gearhead, I am very sorry for your loss.

I lost my POP in 1991 and it SUCKS no matter how you slice it. The way I came to Terms with it is simple, although it took me a very long time to figure out. I will share it with you in hopes that it helps you heal in some way.

Nobody has enough time with the ones we love. When you loose someone you love its a process and I was in a loop of hell until I realized that he got to see me in a successful marriage, and in a successful career. I am happy in my life and those are all things that a Dad would want for his kid. I still miss him all these years later, the hurt has changed to a feeling that I wish he could meet my kids, something he never got to do.
