Re: WTH is up with tire shops as of late?

it wasnt worth the fight since it is on the inside only If they messed up my wheels on the outside i would probably tell them to fix them. They have a guy who refinishes like PA detailers place... in the end it wasnt worth the fight.

Ah, OK. You might want to get some clear or a coating, or at least some layers of sealant, on the damaged areas, just to prevent corrosion.

PA Detailer- Yeah, but IMO those gouges are deep enough to be worrisome; the existing finish is compromised and it looks sorta serious. When one of my wheels got messed up like that during an emergency tire replacement I cleaned up the damage as best I could and touched up the area with KBS Coatings` DiamondFinish Clear. When I`ve failed to do this the damaged areas corroded and got worse. IF you use those wheels in a PA winter I`d sure want to get something on there before the roadsalt gets to them.

These were surface scratches. Not gouges. Your finger nail would not catch them. Plan is when they are done and weather permitting is to get a another coat of DP WHEEL COAT on them. At least on the flat surfaces.

I never posted pics of them. But they are just surface scratches. Not deep.

OK, must`ve gotten confused there for a minute what with all the tire-mounting damage posts these days.

Re: WTH is up with tire shops as of late?

WTH? REALLY latest update: I called friday to see what is up. He said can you bring it up???? Uhhhh....yea. Got there and he said i forgot about the appt. sorry. Calls the wheel guy and i leave it all day friday. Passed on the rental. Had the escape since the gf was not working friday and i had a hectic morning, had to get going. So i go up this morning to pick it up. Had to take the gf to work. Done? NO. The wheel guy never showed up friday. He said he was mad about and apoloigzed. Blank stare on my face for sure. Then he tells me i will try to get a hold of him monday OR look into a set of reconditioned wheels for you. I did not want to freak the **** out, so i kept my cool. I have know george, the manager for years. I dont want to call BS on this or call him a out right liar, but were you hoping i would go away? Guess i will see if this has any closure? If not i will not hesitate to call corprate and explain the whole ordeal to them. ALL THIS CRAP FROM A SIMPLE TIRE CHANGE. No you did not trash them, but admited after looking at them they were indeed scuffed/scratched from the tire change. Guess i would have had better luck if i went to monroe or another local place.

Tell them the extra time you had because they "forgot" about the repair left you more time to think about it - and you reconsidered.

Tell them you want 4 new wheels. The wheel refinish will be spray paint if they are not dismounting the wheels and it will not be nearly as durable.

A year from now they won`t look "good" and it will be your problem.

I agree 100%. After all of this I would be calling corporate direct. You have gone above and beyond to get this resolved.

Re: WTH is up with tire shops as of late?

This ends this morning. I done with you and your BS. Going to call shortly and give them a few options that will be done or taken care of today, or i will do what i have to do by calling corprate and looking into disputing the charge on the cc card.

Made the call and made myself clear. He said if i cant contact him today, i will be ordering you wheels by the end of the day. ALRIGHT. Told him i am done with this today!
