Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Had to come into work on Saturday so I took a minute to try out this old jar (this jar is huge, probably 20 oz. or more) of Poorboy`s Natty`s Paste Wax and Wax my BMW...

Well my mini version that I keep at my desk. Made a pretty big difference, although now I have realized how much orange peel this OEM paint has, may try to wet-sand it out on the roof.
This old jar of Natty`s is still in great shape (other than the faded label) and I`m looking forward to using it on a full sized car soon.

I did my everyday driver today as it was looking a bit neglected, shes an E 270 cdi merc 2004 in the most beautiful green, its a very irredesent colour she looks black at night,so she got the full treatment and I decided to go with a tin of simonize wax hard to apply but bullet proof,i ran out of light as I started her to late in the afternoon so shes getting detailed in the morning, hopefully my arm will be up for task after the workout with the simonize.

detailed a friend`s his and hers vehicles prior to them moving to nc next week. gave each a bath outside with very hard water in the baking sun and quickly moved them into the garage to cool the paint down and get to work. gave his audi a good coat of bfms and her murano a good coat of collinite 845. didn`t have the energy to move them back outside for pics when I was done, man it was hot today.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck, jerry. Hopefully you`ve got good insurance.

Can`t really help with the picture problem, I haven`t taken the time to figure it out. I just email them to myself and post them from the PC.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

knocked out a couple more details for my neighbors. a 2003 Volvo c70 and a 2004 Toyota highlander limited. I wish I had taken a before pic of the hood on the highlander, it looked terrible, badly scratched and faded. I thought for sure it was in clear coat failure and warned the owner not to expect much, but a two step compound/polish brought it back and I was honestly shocked how well it turned out. topped it off with some bfwd and bfcs. hopefully the oxidation will be in check now.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Got started on this Hyundai (like Sunday) last night. It`s actually in great shape with only 60k miles for a 2010. But the paint needs a good polish to make it look like new again. This one should sell quick once it`s finished.

The paint was actually very hard. I ended up cutting with Hydrotech Cyan pads on a Makita 9227c on most of the paint and a Buff and Shine 50/50 wool polishing pad on the really bad areas. The entire car was compounded and it looks great. Just some minor haze and super light holograms on areas I really had to cut. I`ll finish this one tonight with a polish on a DA.

Gave my brother in-law a hand cleaning up and LSP protecting his brand-new Ram 1500 ahead of his drive from Philadelphia to Everett WA:

    Before:

    After:

The paint pops like crazy now! And thankfully it didn`t include the DISO so correcting was at a minimum.
