I detailed my doorjambs (for the first time). I normally just wipe them down but after seeing many posts I figured I`d give them the same care as the outside, so I; APC/Degreased them, wiped away all the grease/rust proofing, waterless washed, clayed, compounded, polished, and sealed with FK1000p and coated all rubber with 303. They look a million times better and shine/sparkle. Ruined some old towels in the processed (grease wouldn`t come out even with APC wash).
I finished off by installing new interior lighting that doesn`t affect night driving while on.
Then I had to detail the interior (it`s been over 1 month) and I vacuumed for the first time since fall last year. Then I went on to removing old wax, compound and polish from the cracks that had been sitting their since my OP removal project (it was very time consuming to remove the excess product from every nook and cranny).
My new neighbors think I`m crazy already because I`ve been detailing something every day since I moved in 1 week ago, the Jeep` never looked so good!

There`s nothing better than opening the door to a clean ride and noticing clean and shiny doorjambs and a freshly cleaned interior
That`s a neat idea with the red light! Is it just a red LED replacement bulb? Anything specific I should look for? One of the bulbs on my instrument panel just went out and I`ve been meaning to order LED`s. I`ll be upgrading the stereo and speakers soon and I figured I might as well do everything at once while I have to take apart the dashboard.

Thanks Vega!
I tried a lot of different bulbs before I found one I liked. Many of the Chinese LED replacement bulbs are very low quality and have a very high failure rate or just don’t work right out of the box! I ended up contacting someone who builds custom headlights using high quality LED`s (US made if I recall correctly). He also had a really hard time getting Red specifically and wasn’t able to find all the different kinds of bulbs I needed but he did cover the majority. For the remaining bulbs I had to order from china.
Here`s a picture of the quality bulb:
Two colors (wife wants her side a different color):
The instrument panel lights are typically soldered on and are a really difficult to change. I`ve read a few Jeep SRT8 story’s about the drama people went through to change them. One of mine just burned out a few weeks ago and it`s really been getting to me, so I might be going down this road too...
What make and model do you drive Vega?

Nice. I had red interior lighting before. After awhile I got tired of it and have since gone with white LED`s.
Vega I get my LED`s from Diode Dynamics. They are made in the USA. They do cost a little more but I`ve been happy with their LED`s.

washed and waxed my truck today. figured I need to start using a lot of the stuff I have, so I gave megs ultimate wax a go. easy to apply, a little more difficult to remove the longer it sets up, but overall, I like it. it lays down a very nice shine an slick finish.
I would also like to thank my parrot tess for later climbing on my detail bag and chewing the power cord to my griot`s 6"da in half. that bird does like to chew the crap out of anything and everything.
griot`s said they will still cover it, so I just sent it in today. great company.
