^ Still glossy! What rinseless did you use? I still love ONR but might try another one next time around.

This was dg pink (kinda streaks a touch even though I lowered dilution to suggested 1.5/3gals) I normally try a touch higher dilution cuz of fl water suckes.

Give DP rinseless, had really nice results with it.

Finally had a chance to use Solution Finish on my Honda Civic`s badly faded grill.

Cleaned w/ APC 3:1 prior to application and area taped off to be on the safe side:

After 3 coats of Solution Finish:

Why did I wait so long to do this?!?! It looks better then brand new now!

My dad was painting something and well I spent the afternoon removing the overspray from the paint, glass and wheels.

    50/50

White paint residue on the clay bar

Sealed it with Adams H20 Guard & Gloss sealant just to get something quick on the paint.

Re: What did you do detailing wise today?

Did my weekly maintenance wash with a twist...

    • 2 buckets, 2 Oz Meg Hyper, Merino mitt
    • Fast rinse before and after
    • WW towel dry with UWW+ as a drying aid on the towels (1-3 sprays)
    • Dressed tires and trim with PERL
    • Glass with stoners
    • Qik interior detailer inside to clean plastics (was only mildly dusty)

    Start to finish ~1hr 30min

It`s by far my fastest weekly maintenance detail and it looks great nothing looks rushed. I have to say Meg`s Hyper Wash rocks and my new Merino mitt has less bite (more glide) and makes quick work of my large panels compared to the other mitts I`ve used (very pleased with it).

The twist? I cut out: the foam gun/cannon, pressure washer, wheel cleaner, APC, Degreaser, Metal polish that I used almost weekly. Although I missed the APC when doing the cup holders that had some dried coffee.

A lot of time is just getting setting such as getting out stuff like the pressure washer. If you are washing on a regular basis, using apc on tires and wheels is a waste. Soap should work on most cars and you can just redress tires.

Thanks and good question! While researching application tips I came across CeeDogs excellent review over on AG which includes a Q&A with Chris West from Solution Finish. Regarding longevity expectations this is what he had to say:

1.- How many months can we expect from Solution Finish in average conditions?

Well, believe it or not, the term "average conditions" is broader than you may think. The average conditions in California vary greatly from, let`s say, North Carolina. But, without being coy, here`s the answer to the question: An application of Solution Finish will last between 12-14 months. However, we`ve found that the average vehicle owner usually reapplies Solution Finish in 6-8 months just to freshen and keep it at optimum appearance.

2.- On severely faded trim will a second application darken the surface further? If so how long should we wait after buffing off the excess from the first application to apply?

OK, this is a little trickier -- but yes, a second application will darken the surface, especially when you have the much lighter "tiger stripes" you see occasionally. What I recommend is a first application without buffing off the excess, allowing it to set 4-6 hours, then apply the second coat and buff and remove the excess as directed.

Link to complete review and Q&A:

Additionally I`ve read an application of DLUX over SF will help to lock it in for even longer. Now I just need to get my hands on a bottle of DLUX
