    Meguiar`s Quick Detailer

    Meguiar`s Final Inspection

I`m assuming these two products are the same, just marketed to two different audiences. But I thought I`d check with you guys to make sure. The Final Inspection, being the "pro line" product, is of course more expensive than the Quick Detailer.

Correct me if I`m wrong, but the Quick Detailer contains carnuba and the Final Inspection does not contain carnuba. I remember doing a search and found this information.

Nope, no carnuba in the Quick Detailer. Great spray/mist bottle though.

We had this discussion some time ago over at Edmunds.com. I had called Meguiar`s for clarification.

Quik Detailer has silicone in it to provide a slicker feeling to the paint surface.

#40 Final Inspection has no silicone in it to keep it consistent with the rest of the Mirror Glaze line that is biased towards paint and body shop pros.

There is a slight diff in fragrance too.

Otherwise its the same stuff (excepting packaging, distribution, marketing, etc)
There are only three things you need to know about me. Gloss, Gloss, GLOSS!!

    Heres how it is...

    Meguiar`s Quik Detailer
(Consumer product; contains no actual wax, but has silicone)

    Meguiar`s Final Inspection
    (Professional product; Bodyshop safe, silicone-free)

    Meguiar`s Quik Wax
(Consumer product; contains wax and silicone)

BW is correct. Many here find that Final Inspection is great for buffing out Klasse SG and offers great lubrication for removal of bird droppings and bug debris. Laters

I generally don`t like silicone but in the case of QD, silicone is apperciated. I like the slick feeling. E1 Wipe `N Shine is my favorite.

    Thanks for the clarification guys.

It seems quick detailers are useful during the application and removal of Klasse (e.*. MF pad dampened with quick detalier makes Klasse easier to apply)

For this purpose, is it better to use a quick detailer with or without silicone? (i.e. Meguiar`s Quick Detailer or Meguiar`s Final Inspection). I`m not sure whether the silicone is good stuff or not.

Meguires QD a close 2nd or 3rd. (Behind EF Clear Pearl) I think the silicone content (like Carnuba content) is so low that it would not affect anything. Like Carnuba, the silicone provides a very short-term slickness and shine, it`s just a "little" extra something to provide shine. I really did not like Final Inspection, it really did not do anything well. Sprays too much product, very little lubricity,

so-so cleaning, little if no protection, and it`s expensive to boot!

If Meguires QD can be used to helpapply and buff off Klasse, is it not safe to use over Klasse?

Gets no points for this Hary.
I could use a LC 3.5" BP with a whole bunch of 4" and 5.5" pads. What else, I don`t know.
