what is sheet beading you say, it`s the ability for your car to sheet and bead at the same time. Some times you wet a car and it beads. With my current combo last done in November was PPCLx1, AIOx2, SGx5, Souveranx1.

Now here`s the story, I`ve not used any QD or anything but MT`s and PBS. And you can clearly see sheet beading, the "day" picture is before washing (the prerinse) and the dark is the after. You can see the sheeting action is brought out after the hood is clean but you can distinctly see the beading. So you pick, it`s the Klasse or the 1 coat of souveran has lasted for 3 months into winter keeping it beading. If you think it`s the PBS then PBS beading lasts for 2 weeks which is the last time I washed my car and the prerinse was without soap.
    Pay Attention Klasse!

I love that. I have just about the same combo on my car but just more layers of each. I washed it today and I wasn`t disappointed. Great beading action.

I`ll jump on the water beading picture posting bandwagon and throw out a picture of my Gold Class beads after about 1-1.5 months, maaaybe more.

You can see where the water sort of ran, theres three lines kind of. Is that what sheet beading is?

How many coats of Zaino is that? I had 1xZ1 and 1xZ5, and my truck beaded like that, I never experienced the small even beading with Carnuba before, could it be because I was applying the Carnuba wrong?

no prob iforcev8, I wasn`t referring to your post in particular

If you do a search on sheet/beading you can see the discussions about Klasse not doing it`s job in the beading department, I chalk that up like hazing, experienced by some but not by all and definately not the majority.

Are those pictures an example of how it should be?

`cause when I`m done washing my car and I hose it down, nozzle off the hose,I can allmost dry the car like that.

When in the rain on the other hand,I get a situation as on the pictures.

I`m confused by your use of the term "sheet beading." To me, beading (just "beading") is what I see in these pics. Rain or spray from a hose nozzle produces it. Quality of the wax finish makes a difference in the size and evenness of the beads - more uniformity if properly cared for.

Sheeting, to me anyway, is what happens when you use low pressure water (like pouring from a bucket) as a final rinse - the water "stays together" in a "sheet" and flows off the car - leaving (in a perfect world) NO droplets left over, but usually (because it always splashes a bit) a few drops. This is what I call "sheeting" - and it is how I pre-dry the car so i don`t so through my towel in while drying. (See The Perfect Drying technique I posted here a while back.

Steve - in your definition, what do you mean by "sheet beading" as opposed to plain old "beading"?

Depending on how I hold the hose nozzle, I can make a car do both....with just about any product on it.....

I do that sheet trick too after a wash just before drying.

Heck with the right water flow rate it can be done with a crappy finish too..

I think he means when the beads sort of join up and form bigger beads that roll off...But I wait for Steves definition

Carnauba (and I assume Zaino) beads with cling (in carnauba it at least happens because of the oil), while Klasse beads with less cling it rolls off and takes the water with it. I`ve been saying this for months.

I will try to take pictures of a car that doesn`t bead, I can`t believe Guess that you can get beading to occur on any car. On some finishes water will just level out on, and that`s a sure sign of no protection (i.e. wetting out)

If you look on DK`s car in the painted pillar you will see that the beading does not run down the pillar. On my car that pillar would be almost dry with a few specks of water beads because of the sheet beading. I hope that helps define the destinction. (course DK`s spray contributed to the smaller beads but still on my pillar the smaller ones would have rolled down too) even on Jngrbrdman`s car you can see some of the little beads have rolled down, characteristic of the sheet/beading.
