Camco rain cutter winter washer fluid

Camco All Season Premium Windshield Washer Fluid 31173: Advance Auto Parts

Picked up 2 of these to try out. Just filled the resivor this morning. Usually i go with the cheap blue mix for the winter months. Because of the amount used. And locally on sale for $1/gal. I`ll report on the camco findings. As luck would have it, not using a lot this year because of the mild winter so far.

I always worry about "fancy" washer fluids messing with my LSPs...see how that stuff is in that regard.

The fluid that the original owner of my `93 Audi used etched the (hood`s) paint around the nozzles so badly that it can only be fixed with a paintgun, which isn`t gonna happen.

And, the new formula introduced a couple of years ago can mess up your washer tank low level sensor. Cost me $100 to get it replaced--they had to take off the passenger side front wheel well liner to get at it.

Did it mess up as in "always warning you it`s low"? Seeing that idiot light all the time would drive me nuts, but if it merely disabled the warning I could live with that.

Yep, constant yellow low fluid level warning light right in the middle of the display. Don`t really need it as I check the fluid level often.

Yeah, I couldn`t live with that. I even had the Crown Vic`s Traction Control LED switched to green since I always turn it off and couldn`t stand having a yellow warning light in my peripheral vision.

No adverse effects. Cleans great and i noticed increased beading. Funny you mention about the low washer fluid light. The xterras had them up to about 08-09. Then dropped it. The icon is still in the dash cluster, but not functional. Canadian models still have it tho.

PA DETAILER- Ah, that`s great about it not messing with things! Gotta keep it in mind should I ever run through my current stuff (not likely as I basically don`t use the washers).

And that`s just TOO WEIRD that the icon is still there but the sensor has been decontented. I mean...I get it why they`d do that, but the idea still kinda bugs me. Even though I`d never use it, I`d maybe be tempted to retrofit from a Canadian one just because I`m like that

Agree. I would have liked that feature! On the xterra forum, i believe if you have the plug under the bottle, you can add the sensor. Of course our washer resivor is inside the fender!

Final update on this stuff. NO ADVERSE EFFECTS. Wipers and paint are fine. It clears light frost and ice with ease. One of the best i have used in the winter.
