Uro-Tech Pad White Finishing Pad Vision Detailing

As One of the winners of the Buff N Shine Uro-Tech giveaway, I decided to take a different approach to the review, instead of doing ALL 4 Pads in the same post I will review EACH separately.
Included with the pads were 10 Buff N Shine Stickers ( great way to decorate your Wash and Rinse Buckets or place on your detailing bags ) a nice Color Printed Catalog was also included with All of Buff N Shines Pads and accessories ( they carry more pads than I was aware of ).

I will be reviewing the White Finishing Pad, this is the Softest of the Uro-Tech Pads, designed Long Throw machines, Griots,Rupes etc..White Finishing Pad primary purpose is for applying Wax,Sealant or Glaze. For this Review I will be using the Rupes 21 Markll, I typically use 5.5 pads ( HINT,HINT) and backing plate but since these were 7"inch pads I changes backing plate to accommodate the pad to fit accordingly and to ensure performance and full results.
First thing I physically noticed about the White Finishing Pad was the Flexibility and Softness, which will benefit vehicles that have contoured body and curved crevasses, allowing the user to safely reach those areas without the concern of the backing plate touch the paint in those areas. The Velcro on the back of the pad was noticeably Soft and Flexible too,not STIFF like some of the other brands, benefit of this to me is, Longer Pad Life. The Center of the pad has the hole, to reduce heat and allows for longer working time, this pad uses the open cell Foam technology which allows maximum performance, cutting and Finishing ability.

One of the ADDED bonus of this pad it can be used for multiple uses ( Applying Wax, Sealant etc...) but for this review I will be using it a Cutting Pad. I regularly Maintain this Grand National ( 6-7 months ) for client, so I`m familiar with how Soft the Paint is, my goal today is to perform a One Step light polishing ( to remove some light swirls)
The Finishing Polish that I will be using is still in BETA Form ( sworn to secrecy) but doing a earlier test post with great results I am ready to proceed. Just as I do with ALL my pads I Mark the pad with a Line and match up with a line on my backing plate, this allows me to see proper Rotation of the Pad as well as the Backing plate and to ensure no slipping of the pad from the backing plate.

I primed my pad ( I was going to be creative and write out Buff N Shine, but I goofed up....lol ) Before turning my machine on I distribute some of the product on the hood of the Grand National by gently tapping the pad randomly on the hood, but work area is for the most part 2X2.

With the machine running at Speed 1 on the Rupes 21 Mark ll, I begin to spread the product evenly with slow arm movement, after 2 to 3 passes I check the work area for correction and quality ( mission accomplished ) One thing worth noting about this pad....very,very smooth and extremely easy to work with ( No fighting it or being grabby ) for a Finishing Pad it woked Fantastic, I was able to achieve the results I was wanting to accomplish, with long work time there was no Heat causing dust !!

I normally use my Air Compressor to clean pads on the Fly but for Reviewing purposes and for those that do not have a Air Compressor I decided to do it the old fashion way ( by hand,Meguiars Dyna Cone Cleaner) that stuff is EXCELLENT !!

As you can see from the ABOVE Picture and BELOW....this Pad cleans up very well, other pads I have had to really work at getting the product removed, but with a water hose it rinsed out clean.
After squeezing out the water and using a drying Microfiber Towel to dry the pad, I was ready to complete the next panel of the vehicle ( like to have about 8-9 of these pads..Hint,Hint )

    cleaned up nicely !!!

If there is ONE thing I would change about this pad , or for All the Uro-Tec pads is the Velcro Label....I personally would like to see them labeled according to the Pad puropse, so for this review I use a Permanent Marker ( SHARPIE ) to label the back of the pad.....Having so many pads I can see where a person could easily get confused on what the pad is designed for and the Manufacturer. Although in this Industry WHITE is typically used for light cutting .....but I for ONE never like to assume anything....so Labeling would be a great solution and suggestion. See example below.

All in All Buff N Shine has designed a Fantastic New Pad Line Up..If you own a Long Throw machine and not getting the results you hoped for with your current pads, give the Uro-Tec pads a try....I think you will personally find the results you are looking for !!

Oh, Incase you were wondering on the outcome of the Grand National ? Here is a few pictures of the BAD BOY.......

Thanks for taking the time out to read and view this post and a great big thank you to Buff N Shine that continues to produce outstanding and quality pads and listens to customers Feedback.

Excellent review Wendell!! And great idea about marking the pad and the backing plate to watch for any slipping. I don`t see that mentioned too often. Glad to see you liked the pads as much as I did. And I`m actually jealous you have those stickers!

Excellent review! I am really wanting to try out the new Buff and Shine pads, but I am torn between the Uro-tec`s and Low Pro pads. Anyone know the difference between the two?

Are you referring to the low profile from LC or Buff and Shine

Buff and Shine. They came out right before the Uro-Tec.

I`d also like to hear the difference in recommended uses for the Uro-Tecs versus the B&S Lo Pros. Perhaps the Pad Man can chime in.

How did the Buff and Shine pad compare to the Rupes white? When you review the other pads try to use some solvent based polishes. The Rupes pads don`t play well with Menzerma products and I would like to see how they hold up. It seems like the Velcro glue on the Rupes pads dissolves when heat and Menzerma are used. I like to use Menz 400 and I haven`t found anything that I like better.

Apparently the Uro-Tec was made to compete with the Rupes line of pads. The Low Pro pads are their "premium" pad. They are more durable and more aggressive than the Uro-Tec`s. I am just going to buy a set of both. You can never have enough pads!

It is addressed a few times here: NEW! - Buff and Shine Uro-Tec Foam Pad System for all long throw orbital polishers!

The uro techs are Rupes style pads (very similar), open cell structure and meant to compete the Rupes pads market. They are less stiffer than the low pro ones (the low pro cutting pads are very stiff). The uro tech are said to contour better on curves.
The low pro are Buff n shine trademark pads and its green has more cut than uro tech blue. Low pro feel more sturdy and have a thin black interface between Velcro and foam area (ala HD orbital or scholl White).
