low foam is very important for both extractors and for any type of carpet or upholstery cleaning, as well as completely rinsing out

Most of the TLC I use in the extractors, I generally add defoaming agent to minimize foam in the recovery tank.
Seeing how that worked and no foam in the LGM was a +++

D`OH! I`ve had mine for about a year. Granted, it`s only the second time I`ve used it. I`ll be keeping close eye on it.

write up, it is a nice product, isn`t it?

Just remembered that Spring Break is in two weeks, whilst I already had details (family cars) planned, it didn`t occur to me (until now) that I would have the time for a proper review......

Just imagine this stuff in a professional machine.

haha... I`m very familiar with running out of time. That`s why I sometimes don`t get "after" shots.

Hopefully you can get that comparison done during Spring Break. More use / info would be nice.

Seriously, though. A pro machine would be great to have. One day....

Maybe I missed something...did you rinse afterwards or just do everything with the mix(es)? If the former, how easily did it rinse out? Always a huge consideration for me....
Glad you enjoyed, Accumulator. And you`re welcome.

Ummm.... I think *I`m* the one who missed something? I`m supposed to rinse afterwards? I should have read the instructions on the LGM. oops. Next session, I`ll rinse out using clean water.

Yup, a pro machine..... or a Rupes Nano or a Flex Kompakt...... or a steamer. These are items that are hard to afford on a college job type budget after car insurance and car payment, and paying for school.

I can see the need low foam in using a machine (do not want foam everywhere) but isn`t the most important thing is that the soap can be removed completely from what you are cleaning?

Doesn`t foaming only indicate the presence of residual soap and not necessarily an indication of rinsing ability? That is, is the absence of foam does not mean a low foam soap has been completely removed?

    Bunky -

This doesn`t apply to the LGCM.....but some extractor chems foam quite a bit, which just fills up your recovery tank. Either that means you are emptying the recovery tank more often, or you just add a dash of foam agent to cut that down....same thing, just different recourse.

Cleaning carpets for me, is not via a a LFCM but via a extractor.
It`s generally pre-treat isoloated stains, TLC, dwell and then extract with rinse agent. In general, one is using at least 2 chems in that process (just short of specific spot stainers).

I got lost re: JJ / Accumula post on LGCM, and my I looked up the LGCM. They say it does inject water, so both had me lost where there were discussing not rinsing the carpet, as I presume as he used the unit, it did inject/extract rinse water. And or maybe Accumulator was saying, did he rinse/extract with a rinse agent

I think there is a rinse step that is not included by some ... After using the solution(s), I would normally go over the same area with just water and then vacuum, to make sure all the soap is gone .. Bunky , the low foam allows you to see when the water turns clean ..

    Re: Poorboy`s Extractor Forumla

I use defoamer (always in the recovery tank) to keep the sucked-up liquid in the extractor`s recovery tank "flat", even when not using a machine where that`s critical for its well-being.

I always rinse to get the shampoo completely out, even when the residue is (supposedly) such that it won`t retain subsequent contamination.

the LGM does inject water. But my mistake, i didn`t follow up with a rinse step using only clean water.

Thank you, gentlemen, for that. Now I know better I`ll have to go at it again, and do the rest of the Jeep, so I`ll be sure to do so.

In the meantime, here`s a pic of the seat after it`s dried out. Yes, I need to follow up with more extraction on this one. It`s a noticeable improvement, though!

No worries, it came out great with the LGM but just imagine if you had a better extractor
